Advice on light wheels

I am warming to extralight hubs. 1182g estimated with straightpull and 16/20 cxrays. Estimating 440g for 40mm deep 25(27) mm chinese rims. Still only 113g lighter than my 2013 r-sys slr’s... but they will be faster. And i can sell the mavics to offset the cost...

976g if i went tubular... but not ready to go there.

16/20 spokes is risky. Even with your weight. The weight penalty for 8 more spokes is worth it. I wouldn’t ge below 20/24, or with your weight maybe 18/24.

Yeah, i will stick with 20/24. Wheels are a bit too mission critical to test the limits.
