i currently run a set of HED Belgium C2
is there a major difference going to the 202?

i'm VERY hesitant to go deeper rim section, for a VERY stupid reason... a very VERY stupid reason... i don't want to draw attention to my wheels.
i do rolling hills in New England. often times with steep sections, especially if i go up to vermont.

i weigh 163 in underpants, on an empty stomach, at the height of the season. then i get fat again.

the 202s WOULDN'T be for every-day riding. just for special occasions.

202 def. don’t draw attention. Saw a club mate ride a set couple days ago. Had to look really hard to figure out, what kind of wheels they were. It was first upon stopping at a red light, I managed to see, they were Zipps.

If you agree with the pricetag, then just pull the trigger. Otherwise take a look at some of the chinese carbon offerings at 25 % the price of Zipps. They draw even less attention.

I don't really get the 202's. The Firecrest version is 1450 grams claimed, which isn't exactly light. The 303 are 30 grams heavier, but more aero. If you want a wheelset for climbing, you can do better and lighter. It's not impossible to have a set around the 1300 grams mark. If you want an all-round wheelset for both flats, climbing etc. look at something like the 303, Enve 3.4/4.5 or something around 40-45 mm rim depth.

problem is the deeper section draws too much attention.
been reading more about the 202, and it doesn't seem to be a very popular Zipp product.

i've now stumbled upon the Nox Falkor 36r. but there doesn't seem to be too many comments or reviews for these rims.
went to a wheel building website and they can get pretty close to that 1300 gram mark

anybody have knowledge of these rims?

It’s very popular amongst the pro’s on hilly races.

The 202 tubular is a very different animal to the clincher.

Would you mind elaborating? Just curious, never tried the tub version.

FWIW my attention is more drawn on a bike with HED Belgium C2 rims than Zipp 202 clinchers ;) ...
And, no, you won't get much benfit on a 202 clincher wheelset.
Many 30-35mm tubular carbon rimmed wheelsets without stickers (on a sub 1300g wheelset) would fill your demands better.

i would go tubular, if i had a support vehicle with extra wheels

as i keep digging, other interesting rim brands start popping up. such as the FSE EVO 35mm clincher

Come on..., at 163 lbs on New England roads you can ride two years without having to change a tub ;) .

206(g) to be exact. Not a huge difference.

I'd wait with the purchase a bit until you get a bit faster and leaner perhaps. 202s are better than alloy rims but a bit of a niche product.

How about putting more training in on the HED C2's, build up a little speed, and then getting a 38 or 50mm carbon wheelset. The weight penalty is quite small and the wheels hold speed quite nicely. :)

I used to live in another country where I grew up laughing a bit at the rare sight of someone dressed in lycra. I didn't know why, it just felt socially a bit unacceptable. 4/100 cyclists used it. Many years later I moved to China and here even a snail/grandmother/oldtimer with 12km/h average has flashy lycra bibs/jersey/sunglasses. It really cleared up my mind that it's stupid to care about what people think. Use the right tool for the job. :D
