80mm tubular yay or nay?

Hi,

So im considering getting a set of 80mm tubulars and Im not sure if it just a waste of money.

I currently ride 60mm and I would like to see how the 80mm feel.

Any advice welcomed.

Go for it. YOLO. I've ridden Enve 8.9 and they were a blast when you get them over 25mph.

Just gone from Zipp 404 FC to Reynolds Aero 72/90 and notice a difference over about 24 mph. Go for it!

I have been riding a set of ENVE 7.8 tubulars the last few weeks.. I also have a set of Yoeleo 60mm tubulars so have the comparison you are talking about...
The 7.8s - what a blast and so 'manageable' in all conditions so far on flattish to rolling terrain... I just want to ride them everyday. I don't think the 60mm wheels are as stable in a cross wind, wierdly enough, whereas the 7.8s seem to accelerate away, I guess when the yaw angle is optimal - not sure if this is a function of the depth only or also the design of the rim.. The 60mm wheels have been, and are, my race wheels but I am struggling to see how I won't start using the ENVEs apart from wanting to keep them as 'sunday best' and for the occasional club TT (I am only a roadie).

All my wheels are Chinese but I use sapim spokes and good bearings.
Hopefully I'll have the same result as you but my 60mm wheels get very unstable with windy days.

Plased the order from a Chinese manufacturer called Apex. 80mm x 25mm UD one piece with graphene braking surface. 20-24 holes.
