zipp 303 vs reynolds assault
Moderator: robbosmans
hi,
I need another wheelset and I hesitate between zipp 303 firecrest 2015 or reynolds assault slg 2017.
I know both seller, so I am not worried about the wheels.
I know the zipp value is about twice so its hard to chose
the zipp have only 1500 miles and the reynolds less than 1000 miles
zipp come without any tires and brake pads but reynolds come with 2 brand new vittoria corsa graphene + 4 used brake pads + 4 brand new. cryo blue pads.
Im 5'10'' and 175 lbs.....
what do you think, advice, ideas etc?
thank you

I would go for the Zipps just for that braking surface and because they are Zipps!

Having owned Zipps and Reynolds I'd say the Reynolds braking with Cryo pads is much much better than Zipp.

Newer generation Cryo/SLG profile and yes much better in the wet too.

I've had both wheel brands, and Reynolds is hands down better in the brake department. However, I think the Zipps were more aerodynamic (or at least weren't as susceptible to cross winds, like my DV3K's and 66's). I know Reynolds has improved their aero profiles, but I think Zipp is better in that aspect.
