Light Bicycle wheel rims?

Just to add something on tire width: my front (23mm CS) measured 27mm when new, they've stretched to 27.7 now. Your GP5k will probably stretch a bit too.

I've been running 60 to 80 psi on my wheels. 60 most of the time, did 80 yesterday on a group ride just for the watts! I'm 63kg or lower usually.

I know, I'm kind of kicking myself for that one, but I was like a kid on Christmas morning, just couldn't wait lol

Yeah, I was thinking they'll probably stretch a little, I'll give them some time and measure again. The only thing I don't like about the thought of going with a 23mm GP5K on the front, is that it's 2.5mm shorter than the 25mm.

I'll play with the pressure a bit, but I'm afraid to go too low, I'm about 84kg, so when I hit a pothole, I hit it hard

Hmm then its probably equivalent for you to run 80 as it is 60 for me.

And unless you are really tall, at 84kg you probably shouldnt bother about those grams on the bike! Sorry being honest haha
I've now promessed myself not to spend money shaving grams off the bike until I'm consistently 60kg.

I dunno, I've already lost 40kg, not much left to lose (I'm 183cm). Bike is about as light as it's gonna get at 7.6kg, but I have no problems keeping up with the A group, and I only started riding six months ago, so plenty of room left for improvement. Full disclosure, I'm an ultra runner, so the engine was pretty strong to start with when I got on the bike.

Bike is about as light as it's gonna get at 7.6kg, but I have no problems keeping up with the A group, and I only started riding six months ago, so plenty of room left for improvement. You probably could, my BMI is 20.6 now, that for your height would mean 69kg. Thats basically my natural weight even if I eat lots of pizza!

BMI doesn't mean much when you have visible abs and tree trunks for legs. I've been down to 77kg, that was too skinny, any lighter and I'd be emaciated. Besides, I'm faster at my current weight, which means I'm stronger. I'll take the weight penalty for the strength.

Yeah, theres that, and body type. I've tried to gain weight in the past and couldn't. I'd never be muscular.

Second ride report, went on a group ride tonight and they performed fantastically again. Did a lot of coasting because they hold speed really well (even when riding outside the group). Mountain climb and descent with no issues. Hard on the brakes after a long fast section at the bottom of the mountain, stopped and felt the brake tracks, barely warm.

Does anyone have GP 5k 25's (tubeless or clincher) on the RR56C02 rims, wondering how wide they come out and if they would violate the 105%. Just ordered the rims, saw the BRR post, but huge difference between 17mm internal and 23mm internal.

Hm, they should be 28.5mm or less wide - that's tight, they will be at least 29mm wide on 23C rims.

I'd guess under 29mm. They measured at 27.1mm on my 21mm internal LB rims, saw somewhere that the rule of thumb is to expect an extra .7mm in measured width for every 1mm of added internal width, so probably somewhere around 28.5mm. Should be about perfect.
