My price was for the ceramic straightpull centerlock version, which to my knowledge is the only disc version that exists, except for some OEM.

My rims went from 'Painting' back to 'Sanding'... now they're on 'Processing'. No idea what's going on...
Edit: Now they are on 'Building'

There is an AR56 (RR56C02d) that i am getting quoted on after i told them about your $1300 cost and its still more than yours! I don't get it!BigBoyND wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 9:31 amIt was $13XX over chat. No email because I haven't made up my mind yet.
AR55 is my other option. I prefer the pro finish, too. But it's narrower. My current wheels are 28mm external and I'd like to go a hair wider. Weight is only 10g off on the Flyweight versions

Most of the cost of a wheelset go to the hubs and then whatever branding premium they want to place on it. The actual carbon rim itself is cheap asf. That's why in my opinion the best value you can get is getting the best hubs you can possibly get and go from there, whether it be laced to light-bicycle or HED or whoever else sells rims OEM. That puts all the typical big names out of the picture because they come with cheap or generic hubs... and if you're really on a tight budget than you can get your rims laced to cheap/generic hubs like Novatec and the only thing you practically miss out on from the big brand wheelsets is the branding premium.pmprego wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 10:21 amI've been carefully weighting one LB option but I know the carbon rim cannot be better and at the same time cheaper than any other major brand outthere (zipp, roval, bontrager, bora). Something has to give. It's up to me to decide that I'm okay with that but I also have to be realistic.

LB and most other manufacturers recommend DT Swiss 350 and I second that opinion, surprisingly, they do not recommend Novatec. Only a little bit pricier than Novatec. Reliable, good looking without ridiculous price tag. When I bought it it had decals which you could peel off - wonderful, so mine has no logos at all, just black.

Hi guys,
I recently received a set of Falcon R35 rim brake rims. 18 hole and 24 hole. The 24hole is perfect, visually.
On the 18 hole, I noticed there are some tiny "cavities/voids" in the brake track(yellow arrows). It's only a very small section about 4 inches near the LB logo, not the entire length of the brake track. I didn't notice them right after the unboxing, but noticed them last night when I'm about to build them up. Should I be worried about those "voids" or "cavities" ? I'd like to get some opinions before contacting LB customer service.

That's pretty common across all manufacturers, and not something I'd be worried about. My Zipp 303's and 404's (Firecrest) had the same issue and I never had a problem with either of them.

I just noticed that LightBicycle is now offering their Falcon AR465 rims (with the wavy cross section) in a rim brake model. And they have a flyweight version too.
Anyone have any real world experience running the 465 rims and any sense if they are indeed more aero?

Hi all, I tried to search but haven't found this question addressed specifically - I am currently looking at having wheels built with LB AR46 rim brake version. LB do the AR46 rim brake in a flyweight version, but when I asked about it they advised to avoid flyweight on rim brake due to risk of deformation due to heat accumulation during extended braking. I would get with the grooved graphene brake surface, and I am about 66 kg. I live in an area with lots of rolling hill and don't do extended descents - but wouldn't necessarily want to rule it out.
So... is anyone using rim brake flyweight rims, and what has the exprience been?
Thanks!

Oh man - I often wonder how many positive responses to a request like this is enough for one to feel confident when the manufacturer says it's too much of a risk.
Sort of reminds me of this

Well, that is a fair point. To add a little clarity, they did not specifically say that it is too much of a risk - rather stated that they "don't suggest you flyweight or ultra-light version for rim brake rims" because "standard version is more safer". Why would they even make a flyweight version of the rim brake rims in they believe them to be unsafe?
I am certainly not looking for anyone to tell me that the application is safe, rather just looking for any available evidence and/or opinions regarding this application. Your feedback is certainly helpful in the decision process.
Thanks.
