LB sent out an ad about the new "hybrid hook" 250g disc brake AR25 rim. They say the rim is clincher compatible. What narrowest road tire do you think is safe to use with these 24mm ID rims, maybe 26mm?

Anyone tried 32 mm GP5k on WR50? What's your experience with wind stability?
I was using 28 mm for quite some time, but after a crash this spring switched to 32 mm. Grip and comfort are there alright, but I can't escape the impression that wheels are less stable in the crosswinds, especially on descents. Is it only in my head? What's your experience?
PS. 28 mm GP5k measured 31 mm, but 32 mm measure 33 mm (1 mm wider than the rim, but 2 mm less than expected).

I have Corsa Control G2.0 TLR 28mm on my WR50 hooked. Stability is excellent when bombing down hill. Full confidence.

Is ordering from China the best/only way to get LB wheelset to the USA? It's a shame that the freight cost is $175.
I'm finding my Zipp 303s wheels a bit unstable in cross winds. My 32mm deep fulcrum racing 3 are more stable in those conditions. I'm thinking of a 38mm deep by 25mm internal width hookless set.

I've run them with both 32mm and 28mm GP5K TLs and didnt notice a difference. I am a light rider 125ish lbs and find them to be quite stable, but I think they generally not that aero for their depth. Oddly two sets of the 32mm tires on mine have measured out to 34mm. I have the hooked / flyweight version of the rims.

The freight varies a lot, counting on what option you would like to choose. From economic $$ to the fastest at 2$$ for a pair of wheels. You have the choices anyway. Their local shops at NA, Europ, and Australia (especially the NA shop, with good availabilities) also work in service, seeing their efforts to shorten the distance physically and emotionally whatever.DaveS wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 10:18 pmIs ordering from China the best/only way to get LB wheelset to the USA? WR65 are very stable, only thing I noticed the bike frame also influences it alot. My 3T Exploro ultra feels easier to control than Ridley Kanzo Fast. Even heavy crosswinds were pretty easy to handle, I was never blown away across the road. My weight is 72kg.

Goodness... A pair of those AR25 rims built with Bitex hubs would be 1059g for around 900EU. Nothing on the market can match that value.

Can someone who recently ordered a wheelset give an update on the current timeline? I ordered quick buy wheels about a year ago and they arrived within 4 to 5 weeks. Custom wheels took 2-3 months last year. So what’s realistic right now?

I ordered a WR45 wheelset (custom, global shop) on 24 august, and still work in progress.floriansantana wrote: ↑Fri Sep 23, 2022 1:48 pmCustom wheels took 2-3 months last year. So what’s realistic right now?
I'd expect to receive it not before another month.

I ordered a set of AR46 on 6 Aug this year. Fairly standard build - Matte UD, DT350 18T hubs, Stealth decals, no access holes, drain holes, brass nipples. They were shipped on 26 Aug using EMS from China. I'm in Australia and they arrived within 11 days. I was absolutely amazed at how quickly I received them.floriansantana wrote: ↑Fri Sep 23, 2022 1:48 pmCan someone who recently ordered a wheelset give an update on the current timeline? And I'm so pleased with them. I like a quiet hub and the 18T DT350 is dead silent. The wheels feel light, but they are very responsive. They're holding air really well in the tubeless tyres. Pirelli Race TLR 26mm measures just under 28mm at 73 psi. I have done a couple of fairly long and fast descents on breezy days and had no conern with the front wheel - very stable.
