For the build up of my Tarmac SL6 disc I just need to make a dissicion about the wheel set.
- Or it's gonna be the ENVE 4.5 AR Disc with the DT-swiss hub.
- Or it's gonna be the Roval CLX 50 Disc
My dealer is gonna give me the same price for the wheel sets.
Where I'm gonna use the wheels? I live in Belgium, Flanders, so it's gonna be used on the Flanders roads.
Wich one would I pick for my SL6 disc

If you want to run 28mm tires Enve (25mm inside), for 25mm tires Roval (21mm inside).

28mm tires will be faster if your average speed is below 35km/h or you have very bad roads.

With the very wide Enve 4.5 AR and 28mm tires, the dimension (width and height) of the tire is going to be much more than 28-30mm... Is there enough clearance on the SL6 Disc?

What is the dimension of the tires that you intend to use?

The official Tarmac SL6 disc tire clearance is for 30mm tires, so it should be real 40mm.

A Conti 4000S II 28mm (the widest 28mm I know) will be 34mm on the 25C Enve - 3mm clearance should be enough, if you avoid mud. ;)

If not, you can pick a narrower 28mm tire like the GravelKing.

Will 28mm be slower at high speed?
Can you use normal tyres on the enve’s or only tubeless?

Eeeuhm i think you're second yes is wrong. I see on the website of Enve that the AR 4.5 are only compatible with tubeless tires.

They are designed for tubeless tires but you can of course use regular tires and tubes in tubeless rims.

You are wrong.
I asked it at the customer service of Enve about it and only tubeless ready tires can and may be used on the 4.5 AR rims.

Can you give us the reason that ONLY tubeless ready tires have to be used with their rims :noidea:

The ENVE 4.5 AR is hookless so you need a tire with a stretchless bead to prevent it from blowing off. Thus you can only use tubeless ready tires.

indeed Enve says "tubeless only" for this 4.5 AR.. why? hookless maybe. I've never compared 4.5AR to my various other Enve's that are tubeless compatible.
