Hi all, just received my pair of wto 60s and they are beautiful - however the shine has been taken off i little when I came to weigh them.

The claimed weight is 1550g for the set with a split 670g for the front and 880g for the rear. Now my rear is fine at 879g but my front is 713g.

I think this seems a little too high but cant find any information on claimed tollerances - what does everyone think?

Edit: campag work to 5% and split should be front 688g and rear 859g with no grease so I'm happy.

Post some pics on your bike.
I'm also caught between the 45or60 as an addition to my Zipp 404 tubbies

If you expect an Italian bike part to be within 5% of its claimed weight, your expectations require adjustment. Its like 6.1% overweight for one wheel. Its within tolerances and completely normal. Generally italian stuff is around 10% heavier than the claimed weight in my experience (particularly for frames). Install, ride, enjoy and forget about it.

Not got tyres on yet but will do...

Just going from what you said I would have thought that the 45s would make more sense for you with the 60s being quite similar in depth to the 404s.

Great advice.

As a set the weight is within 5% so I suppose that isn't bad.

I would return or exchange them. I have two sets of Boras and both were under the claimed weight.

Anyone have any measured widths for 23mm clinchers of any brand mounted on these wheels?

Turns out my info regarding the split of weights front and rear for the wto60 was wrong, the real split is front 688g and rear 859g and I heard from campag that they work to 5% tolerances which don't include grease.

So nothing wrong with my "with grease" weights of 713g and 879g. Maybe the higher end of the tolerance but nothing unreasonable.

Also, just put a 2kg weight on the same scales and it came to nearer 2.1g so :noidea:

I'm happy now that I know the ratio of weights is about right.

In other good news gp5000TLs do fit (if they are warm) and don't require a compressor to seat - just a decent track pump :D

One question I have, which I hope you can help with please, is whether the wheels have a hole drilled in the rim for water drainage?
I have 3 such holes drilled each wheel - hopefully they are meant to be there...

Mine don't have any holes. Kevin must have fakes.

Just joking - same with mine.

I would suspect that your scale is not accurate then. Because Campy/Fulcrum is known to be very conservative on advertised wheel weights (I don't know about component weights...I've seen the 12-speed EPS advertised weights as being overly aggressive). As I said earlier both of my Boras came out under the advertised weights. If you are truly curious re-weigh the wheels on a different scale. It would also be helpful to those here thinking about buying the WTOs.

Do you mind sharing where you got your WTOs? I'm in the U.S. and I want a pair too but I'm hoping I won't have to pay full retail for them. I got both of my Boras way below retail but I also understand that the WTO is still new. Thanks.

Mine were - Front - 655g, Rear - 838g (claimed weights 657g/839g) - so 1493g for the wheelset.
