WTO’s have much better stopping power and they catch slightly more wind than the old Bora’s in a sudden gust, after a short while you can adapt to it, the wind seems to only grab for a second or two then slips off the wheel, an unusual feeling at first,
I tested out riding past gate gaps along a hedgerow on a coastal cliff where the off shore wind gives a good blast as you go past, what I did was to not let go of the bars but just hold on gently to see if would send me into the ditch, as it happens a side on blast wasn’t too bad, the only time I got a bit of a whip effect was on the descent with a strong wind about 30deg off my port bow, soon under control but took me by surprise, they are great wheels and I have no regrets at all

I have a reliable source telling me there will be Bora WTO 45s. Will be interesting to see what this means for the Bora 35s and 50s. For me 45 is kind of the perfect depth for a true all rounder.

The information I have is that it's rim brake only, and only available in a tubeless ready configuration.

I doubt that we will see tubular in WTO lineup after this bold claim "The tubular tire is the worst performer, the clincher/inner tube represents a significant improvement and tubeless tires offer the least rolling resistance of all"

The 45 is a nice depth, but the WTO’s are clincher only. The Bora 35 and 50’s have the tubular option, so I don’t think it’s an either/or situation. They can coexist.

Hi Chris,

I'm getting some new wheels for the spring and the Bora WTO 60's are currently top of my list.

One question I have, which I hope you can help with please, is whether the wheels have a hole drilled in the rim for water drainage?

I've previously had issues with water collecting in wheel rims and had to drill a hole so this doesn't happen. I don't fancy doing this on £2,000 wheels! Some wheels come with drainage holes pre-drilled, e.g. DT Swiss ARC, Bontrager XXX, like in the image below:

I’m trying to decide on light vs dark label WTOs for a bare Ti bike (brushed finish). Groupset is SR12. Any suggestions?

Builder (Enigma) thinks dark label will look better. But I’m thinking maybe bright label, because unlike the old bright label Boras, the bright label WTOs almost seem light gray (rather than white). I’d ideally like the graphics to match the grey “record” in Super Record 12 graphics.
