this cant be good for Campagnolo image.

Kristoff regrets 'big risk' after using tubeless tyres in Paris-Roubaix
'It was a disaster of a day' says UAE director Peiper
Kristoff chose to stick with Vittoria Corsa Graphene 2.0 25mm tubeless tyres in conjunction with Campagnolo Bora WTO tubeless-ready wheels that he had raced on throughout the spring. However, on the brutal cobbles of Paris-Roubaix the Norwegian felt that the combination had let him down and that he had made a mistake in selecting them.

Poor image for campagnolo yes but not really a wheel issue.. But poor decision to run 25mm for a big fellow like kristoff. As he said, during the race he bashed into holes he could avoid in recon. No amount of sealant is going to help at Paris Roubaix when you damage sidewalls enough to pinch flat tubeless.

25mm on those roads? User error I'm afraid.

I guess 25mm on these wheels measure closer to 27mm. Still, I don't think that it is the narrow width that caused the problem. Lots of riders used 25mm tubulars on P-R in the past without issues.

Depends on the tyres as always. I run 28mm Turbo Cottons on mine, they come up at 27.55mm

Probably the tyres though - if he was running contis like me he would have been fine.

Well, if you read the small print the Bora WTOs come out of it rather well. Kristoff took the risk with running tubeless because he liked the wheels so much:

"I knew that it was a big risk but these wheels are really good. I had success the last few weeks on them and I felt good today, until I punctured. We’d just not try it again next year."

Looks bad for the particular tyres he was running and perhaps for tubeless in general (for Roubaix at least), but not for Campagnolo.

Also, It would be interesting to know if he was actually running sealant or not? Nevertheless my hunch would be that any current road tubless tyre would be doing loads of "micro-burps" on cobbles at that speed so would gradually lose pressure.

Think he will be running the WTOs all season though... he does seem to like them. I wonder if his hubs are the same spec as ours or if he has custom ones which are more "ultra" like.
