Is your chain one link too short? Low tension = drive chain efficiency my friend.

Have not thought about it link missing. Seems to work fine for me....but will check. And brake cable works fine, well at least the bike stops in time.
Bike Cages are Arundal Mandible. Have not weighed them, but they are listed at 28grs each.
