Do the new Mavic Carbon UST wheels provide solution to the clincher overheating & blowout safety issue?
Are these wheels safer than normal clinchers?

Nope. Carbon rims still get stupendously hot under continuous hard braking... You have a few options.

1) Risk it on prolonged technical descents. Alternate brake bias between front and rear. Stop periodically when you think your rims are getting cooked.
2) Buy carbon tubular rims. There is no outward pressure, so a blowout cannot occur. Delamination, bubbling, warping can still occur though.
3) Stick to alloy brake tracks.
4) Switch to disc.

Nothing special with these wheels, just that the tolerances for the tire and rim are more exact to facilitate an easier seal for a tubeless setup.

For Descending, Carbon Clinchers will always have this issue looming.

I said the rims were overweight, but the hubs were nice and that they weren't worth the price. ;)
