Hi all,
I’m trying to see if it’s worth getting the previous gen 40C with the 3Diamant brake track vs the AC3 one.

From the specs I can find in different sources, AC3 differences are:
Brake track
Twill carbon construction
1420g claimed weight vs 1450g for previous
Graphics
Which means hubs, bearings, width etc is all the same. Anything else?
I already run Bora One 50 clinchers (3Diamant version) on my C60 and I love em. I understand the Fulcrum 40C 3Diamant would be pretty much the same thing, just in 40.
I am doing a new build for a SL6 and planning to mount Fulcrum 40Cs, but not sure if I want to spend more for the AC3 ones. If the Fulcrum 3D is same as Bora One 3D, except depth, then I might just go 3D. Also I like the decals of the 3Ds more and cheaper and I can get them easily locally (in Singapore).
Any one with real world experience on both? Any other thoughts?
Thanks!

Am interested in this myself as am in the same quandary, I always liked my previous experience on the 3Diamant but surely the ac3 will be a little better in the wet even if a little noisier?
Then the next question is whether the 40C are worth the extra over in the UK

I have no real world experience with both wheels but I had the same purchasing dilema as you a few months back.Dogmatic13 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 05, 2018 3:12 pm

2017 40C 3Diamant or 2018 40C AC3?
For me the positives in favour of the 2017 3Diamant were cheaper (last years stock), slightly better graphics (dark label – negligible but personal preference) and from other users Bora experiences, potentially quieter braking than the AC3.
So I went with the 2017 3Diamant.

Not worth it. My rear bora one 50 ac3 now looks like 3diamant after 6 months use.
Get 3diamant if you can save money.
