Saw this the other day

https://www.bikerumor.com/2018/03/30/bo ... iles-more/

Weights for the clincher versions look good. But can’t find weights for tubular. Searched the trek website as well. Tubular versions listed but no weights. Anyone know?

Thats from Trek.

Makes me hopeful for a disc Madone later this year.

V-shape profile.

Everything old is new again.

That braking surface looks very similar to Campy's braking surface. I'll have to check them out.

Hmmm... I think there's another thread on the same topic somehwere. If so, probably best to combine them.

It's on a thread about the rumored/ spied disc Madone over in Road.

The wide torodial shape has less drag in cross winds, but is also more prone to it. Like the new BMWs with the air curtain, that leads the wind across the front wheels. :|

Reynolds' teardrop shape has even more drag, but is the most stable.

The round V-shape is somewhere in between and a good compromise. I think the experiences of the customers on the road were more important than the wind tunnel tests here.

First ride impressions:

- xxx stiffer than Aeolus. No brake rub even at low speed/climbing out of saddle efforts

- braking in dry good plus also silent

- look better IMHO on Madone frame

- more aero? Haven’t a clue.

Actually excited about these. I have Aeolus 3's and absolutely love them. I had my choice of any carbon clincher I wanted but went against the grain and didn't go Enve/Zipp as most would. Super glad I didn't. These have been great wheels and Bontrager actually did quite a bit of homework on the xxx.......plus hand laid in USA. Looking for an excuse to upgrade.

Does anyone have real weights of the clinchers? The XXX 4 were 1,480g here: https://bikerumor.com/2018/03/30/bontra ... xx-wheels/

That's a bit too far of. And the old Aeolus D3 were quite close to the claimed weights...
