Evening all.

I’ve just purchase some Bora One 50’s and was wondering what tyres people are running on them. I’m not a fan of wide tyres, currently running Vittoria Open Corsa CX 23’s in Mavic Ksyrium SLR’s and I’m really happy with those. I’m aware the Boras are a bit wider so was wondering whether to go to 25’s or stick with 23’s on a larger fit like the Conti GP4000 II.

Many thanks,

Dave

So far only Vittoria CX Corsa 23/25, Veloflex Corsa 23/25 and Vittoria Open Corsa Pavé 25.
I will try next the Specialized Turbo Cotton 24/26.

I'm running Conti 4000 S II 23mm on the front and 25mm on the rear. The 23mm is a perfect fit from an aero standpoint The 25mm is not aero but I like having a slightly larger tire on the rear for comfort and durability.

same here 23/25 but with Vittoria Corsa G+. Rolls very well even with the USB hubs.

Cheers. I thought the Conti 23’s would be a good fit.

Is the 23 a good aero fit on the front?

For new Bora tubulars with 24.2 mm wide rim the perfect choice are 24 mm tyres, like Specialized Allround 24 mm or Continental Force Comp 24-622 tubulars. Don't know about clinchers, but guess that aero wise 23 mm tyres will fit the best - when fitted, they probably will measure around 24 mm or so.

Yes @Davelittle. The tire fits the rim profile.

Thanks all. Think I’ll go for the Vittoria’s in 23.

One more thing... will a 60mm tube valve be long enough to securely attach a pump?

I'm running the 25mm Vittoria Corsa G+ on my tubular Boras. They come up slightly narrow, measured width about 24mm, almost exactly the same width as the brake track. Doubtless the 23mm would be about 22mm actual width and slightly more aero.. would be interested to see a pic of what the G+ tubs in 23mm look like on the Boras given that they will be about 2mm narrower than the rim. The corresponding Vittoria clinchers will doubtless be wider when mounted, I'd certainly go with the 23mm for aero benefits in that case.

I use 60mm valve stems on a Bora 50. No problem inflating the tire.

@jlok. Can you measure the 23mm and 25mm Corsas with calipers to give actual width of both tires?

It's all downhill from here, except for the uphills.
