DT Swiss ARC 1100 Dicut 48
Moderator: robbosmans
Hello,
I previously owned Zipp 303 Firecrest wheels. Now I can buy DT Swiss ARC 1100 Dicut 48mm. (2018 year and rim brakes version) Could you compare both of them together? Would you say they are similar level of wheels? If not which one is better ?
Thank you.

Which size of tires are planning to have? 25mm or 28mm or more?
(the ARC are made for 23/25mm; the ERC are made for 25/28mm)
I have on my winter/ rain bike the ERC 1100 Dicut 47 DB with 25mm Conti 4 Seasons (winter) and they are really fine. Of course I could have also 28mm on these ERC.

If you never go with 28mm the ARC are indeed good.
If you want to go with 28mm or if you ride with less than 35 kmh, the ERC with 28mm may be better (that what DT Swiss is claiming; The tires used were Conti 4k)

scroll to the bottom of the page to "rolling resistance"
It also depends if your frame has enough clearance for 28mm tires (measuring usually 30 mm)

That's indeed a possibility. In that case the OP would however need to get the ERC instead of the ARC.
BTW DT Swiss recommends for aero purpose to run 23 front and 25 rear on the ARC.
Hi. First post.
Very interested too if anyone has any experience with the ARC 48s.
That said, the ERC is only made for disc brakes so it wouldn’t work for the OP. A good option but alas.
And DT Swiss quality for the hubs, spokes, rim and assembly!!MichalZZZ wrote:In this price range I can find better wheels? (clincher, rim brake, around 50 mm high) I am looking for aero wheels that can cope with side Irish wind. flat and also mountains tereins.
Go for it!
Zipp claims that they are very good in cross winds. Can’t tell you if right. Maybe there is a review of these in crosswinds.
The ERC (so therefore the ARC also as they were made with this topic in mind) are good in the crosswinds I have but I ride approx. 49 km from the sea coast here in Canada/ British Columbia.
If you like the design of the NSW go for it. If you want or need the quality of the hubs, spokes, rim and the overall manufacturing quality of DT Swiss go for DT

I am also interested to have some (as the Shimano Dura Ace 9170 C60 seems to be available in only a few months....)
