How to work with centerlock wheels/hubs on tour, if you need to remount rotor? (for transit purpose, for example)

1) with 6-bolt rotor and adapter:

- almost all 6-bolt adapters requires lockring tool (see centerlock rotor options section)
- special 6+1 bolt adapter that allow to use bolts without lockring tool (looks weak)

2) with centerlock rotor:

QR (and some 12mm TA) locking (internal splines like cassette) options:
- cassette removal tool + lever 19mm-25mm
- cassette removal tool + 1/2 square lever
- cassette removal tool + 1/2 square to hex adapter + 7-8mm hex lever or multitool

15mm thru-axle (and some 12mm TA) lockring (external splines like ht2) options:
- hollowtech2 bb tool (like Shimano TL-FC36/TL-FC32)
- hollowtech2 bb tool cup to 1/2 square (like Shimano TL-FC33 or deeper) + 1/2 square lever
- hollowtech2 bb tool cup to 1/2 square + 1/2 square to hex adapter + 7-8mm hex lever or multitool

Anything else?

What will be optiomal (weight+convenience) touring tool set option for Center Lock?
a. Best I can think of cassette lockring tool with 8mm hex mount, but I cannot find this.
b. Next probably modified cassette lockring tool with 1/2 mount adapted to hex mount
c. HT2 removal cup tool with hex mount, something like this, but deeper cup:
11F3 IceToolz HT II BB Tool (too shallow cup)

You have to make sure any shaft you put through will clear the hub end.

You could cut down the Abbey tool to drop weight. Maybe contact them about making a lighter one, can't hurt to ask.

@hmai18, thanks.

weight info (just for keep thread more informative)

WoflTooth Pack Tools - Ultralight 1 Inch Hex & Bottom Bracket Wrench - weight - 88g
WoflTooth Pack Tools - Ultralight 1 Inch Hex Inserts - Lock Ring insert - FWI-LR - 31g

@jeanjacques
those tools are made for cassettes and uses frame tubes as a lever
may be some of them can be used for rotors, but they was not tested for this purpose
but it is not very good idea to stress frame tubes during touring every time you need to work with rotors...
