Hey weenies, just a quick one. I have an older set of Hyperon 2’s Carbon hubs, campag freehub and I run an 11sp campag cassette on there just fine. Will a Shimano 11sp body work on the older models? Thx!

This come up every once in awhile, and while I remember the issue, I had to look up the year.

The axle design changed around 2007(?) The freehub requires the newer style axle in order to fit. The new axle is backwards compatible with the rest of the hub. But the cost of axle and freehub may not be worth the savings in cassettes going from Campy to Shimano.

according to this the axle changed in 2007. They will sell the Shimano freehub combined with the new axle. https://thecycleclinic.co.uk/products/campagnolo-freehub-body-fh-re415-os-alloy-axle

just get the appropriate freehub for your axle diameter.

I've even converted a 2001 daytona rear hub (OS axle) to shimano11 speed. Swapped freehub bodies from a friend of mine's Zonda wheelset.
