Hi,
A while ago this part (contact teeth washer?) broke off on the NDS side of my DT Swiss 240s Classic Rear Hub (QR 5mm 130mm).

I found a similar end cap (same width) in my spares box which didn't have the contact teeth washer.

I've looked at the DT Swiss docs and plenty of websites but the info isn't clear. I ended up ordering the wrong end cap... It's for 135mm rear hub spacing.

Now I'm looking to replace it but wondering whether the washer is necessary. Across the DT Swiss range different end caps have different configurations. And some have teeth and some don't in a lot of the photos I've looked at. Do I have to use the end cap with the contact teeth washer? Or maybe someone knows the part number from previous experience?

The end cap teeth help grip the axle to the frame under the load of the QR. If the end cap has no teeth it is for use with a thru axle as it is a effectively a spacer.

Remove the new teeth and fit to the original end cap?

That's what I was hoping wouldn't be the case. Thx.

The washer is bonded to the cone so swapping them is impossible.
