Not saying you're wrong in your estimation of your own priorities but, if "every bit of flexibility" was really the best, then we should all be riding tubular rims with a triangular profile, and gluing the tubular to a completely flat outer surface in order to leave its round cross section completely unimpeded.

More info on the 507's as well as the hookless versions. I'd love to have a pair of the hookless rims to try out. Hopefully they become available soon.

I have a set of 507's on order laced to dt 240s. I think that I am going to run them with Pro Ones' in 23mm as they will balloon to 27mm or close. Will give a review when I get them.

Thinking of getting the rev 35 for a mtb 29" build. Have the 35's been tested in mtb use?

Sure. They are not fashionably wide, but the Venn Rev 35 TCD are in fact good 29" rims/wheels. Pro and elite riders like them as they get a really nice tire profile with 2.1-2.2" tires.

Here is one example of a Belgian elite/pro rider's setup.

And on an elite category full suspension XC bike too:

....and I should add, the Venn 507 TCD will make a spectacular deep profile 29" wheelset, especially when the hookless version is done.

The pricing is reasonable enough to try a set. Waiting for confirmation of the tubeless model production weight before I order though.

Hi Victor, I have some hard time understanding what are you different rims weight.
Would you mind making a summary for us?

Do you have any guidance yet on maximum tire pressures you would spec? My interest in these is mainly for road riding and I'd hope to be able to run mostly 28's but maybe up to 32's or down to 25's (if they even fit).

We do not have Venn 507 TUC yet, only TCC and TCD. The only tubulars that we have are Venn Rev 35 TUC.

This is a difficult one as it depends on how wide your tires end up being once inflated, and on your weight. Second, maximum tire pressures depend on tire widths as the actual measure that we have a maximum for is the maximum tire casing tension. Basically the relationship is: tire casing tension = tire width/tire pressure, so the wider the tire the less tire pressure you need to achieve a particular tire casing tension.

In practical terms, while you can inflate a 25mm tire to 120 PSI with the rim surviving, if you manage to inflate a 35mm tire to 120 PSI, the rim would fail. Thus, as a rule of thumb pay attention to maximum tire inflation pressure markings on the tire, and inflate them to below that number especially on internally wide rims like our Venn 507.

From the FSE thread:

vmajor wrote:Venn 507 are available now, but not to the north American market due to an exclusivity agreement. Sorry.

We have a 441g solution for a Venn 507 filament wound rim that we developed in conjunction with a researcher from TU Delft in the Netherlands and I am hoping to have this available by the end of the year.

Hi Victor, will the Venn 507 be available in North America later in the year? Will it be available through a distributor? Can you disclose who that would be and approximately when they will be available? I'm interested in a pair of hookless 507 TCD rims in time for the CX season in September.
