My new Velocity A23 off centre rim arrived today. Is it normal to be so excited waiting for the hub to arrive so I can build my first oc wheel?

Make sure you inspect the spoke holes thoroughly. Some of those rims come with drilling material still left in the spoke holes. Be sure to clean that out before lacing so that your nipples don't get chewed.

No it is not. None of us in this forum is exactly 'normal'. :)

I have stopped getting excited about those rims. I have found the OC rim is very tricky to build with as small tension adjustments keep on throwing the out, also stress relieving throws it out too. I may have had a dodgy rim or too. Not so keen on building with the, now especially as the DT Swiss RR440 is now available which does everything the A23 does but it is a better made rim.

Still nothing wrong with being excited. I get excited about new kit all the time. I am excited currently about tomorrow TT can I best my PB it so exciting. There is something wrong with me though I am sure there is.
