I used to run these back in the day on my MTB. It was them and White Industries at the time...Ringle was around, but they were more about fashion. If I'm not mistaken though the Hugis became DT Swiss.
It's funny how perceptions are different and there is a variation in how loud the freehub is across manufacturers. I've been accused on my team of running dry lube in my pawls. To my ears the loudest set I ever had was a set of DT240s on Edge 45s (Circa 2010), they vary in sound from an air raid siren to a diesel tractor. Here is a vid I did a couple of years ago. I jumped in to them with no load at speed.

......DT was the loudest in my experience.
Very odd, I have two sets of lightweight standards III both campy set up with 240 hubs. One set is quiet and the other noisy. I personally like quiet. Loudest I've ever heard are Ritchey's
I've owned:
Easton
240s
Tune
Mavic
C4
Zipp 182
Ritchey
Ritchey by far the loudest with tune a distant 2nd.

That's the old chris king hubs. The newer r45 hubs are pretty quite.

Royce.......noisy. They are about the same as TUNE hubs. TBH they are actually annoying.
On long descents in big mountains they drive you crazy....lol.

Once when I was younger, and not so bright, I broke the little metalring/spring, keeping the teeths from being "inactive", in the hub of my Shamal Ultra's. I made a new one from a paperclip...
The noise was insane. The chain was getting sloppy when freewheeling, and when the bike was in the repairstand, the crank would simply just roll with it, like a track hub. I bought a new original ring from a local dealer later that week.
Does anyone remember the brand Gravity-zero? They had some dead silent freehubs on their wheels.
