I went through the same dilema. I struck the Ed hub off as the bearings are smaller, and I had no interest in the ceramic hubs as cheap ceramic bearings are worst than good steel ones. I was also keen for 2:1 lacing on the rear and ended up going with the Bitex 303. Mine were shipped yesterday so hopefully I'll have them for the next race in a few weeks time. I went with the 58 x 28mm rim and plan on running 26c Specialized Turbo Cotton tyres on it.rides4beer wrote: ↑Wed Nov 28, 2018 5:43 amI'm eyeing either the 45x28 or 58x28 carbon clinchers from Farsports, but have no clue what hub to get. Edhub ceramic and FSE260 are the lightest, but Bitex 303, Powerway R36, and Powerway R51, and NovatecSL are also close in weight and price point.
What would be the best in terms of durability and serviceability?
I also like the 3G lacing of the Powerway R36, any thoughts on that one?

My Farsports wheels arrived yesterday. Ordered on the 11th, arrived at customs in SF on the 28th, delivered on the 30th in New Mexico. Three weeks in total.
I haven't ridden them yet but they look really nice. They appear to have been nicely made.

How is the braking on these wheels compared to the textured braking track used on newer Zipp and Enve wheels for example?

I won't be buying a $2000 set of wheels to run this comparison but I'll let people know how they brake. I have the stock black Gigapower pads, Campagnolo red pads, and some blue Lifeline pads to try and achieve the best braking.
Thanks. It would be good to know how the Farsports wheels perform with Campagnolo red pads. The question is - does Campagnolo ship same red pads for 3Diamant (non-textured) and AC3 (textured) brake track? Also, will post a picture of the brake track?

Is your WR56C02 rim brake or disc brake? www.lightbicycle.com/700C-V-shape-56mm- ... tible.html
Could you please check with caliper whether external width is 28mm with angled brake track or external width is 30mm with straight brake track? Thanks!

I had {46mm deep, 28mm external width, 21mm internal width} on rim rim brake bike. Then i switch to disc brake and that wider 56mm deep rim.mpulsiv wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 6:11 amThanks for updating the "Wide Rims and Tires: Real Measurements" thread https://weightweenies.starbike.com/foru ... 3&t=136995

It has smooth slope from hook-end where it is widest to narrowest at the spoke end.
My rims don't have brake track but width of the section where brake track should be are 28.5-30mm angled.
Same red pads for both 3Diamant and AC3. Also, I wouldn’t say the AC3 tracks are “textured” as much as just having a little more of the resins being removed from the track, either by laser or whatever method they use, with the end result being just a little more abrasive. Quite different than some of the file like serrations I’ve seen in brake tracks. Or adding a sandy mixture of basalt and resins to the track afterwards.mpulsiv wrote:Thanks. Got it. If it's widest at the hook with narrower slope, it's actually "straight" brake track. "Angled" (highlighted in the picture) brake track is when it's the widest at brake track and narrower at the hook. I could never the understood the purpose for "angled" brake track https://weightweenies.starbike.com/foru ... 3&t=137859Hexsense wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 6:36 amI had {46mm deep, 28mm external width, 21mm internal width} on rim rim brake bike. yep, saw them in store in uk (that shop in Hampton Wick that sells Colnago).AJS914 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 5:24 pmFrom reports I've read, GP5000s seem to measure true to size on an 18mm internal rim. 23mm is on the wider end of the spectrum so a 25mm might stretch to 27 and a 28mm to 30ish.
I'd wait for some actual measurements to surface.
Is the 5000TL even available yet? I haven't seen it for actual sale yet. On every site I've looked at it's listed as "pre-order".
Some say pour 10ml water out of your bottle to save that last bit of the weight. Sorry, i go one step further, i tend to the rider off my bikes.

I noticed that Starbike has the 25mm ones in stock at a good price. $48.47/each.

Premium. Wanted Extralight but BTLOS said for disc brakes they don't recommend Extralight. Which kinda seemed weird to me, but...
