Open mold wide profile carbon wheels

Someone asked me to post pictures of my new Farsports brake tracks. I'm not sure if this is instructive but here are a few pics:
I live in a pretty flat area now so I'll never be putting these brake tracks to a true torture test. That was one of the reasons why I was now comfortable trying Chinese carbon clinchers.

I've always used Black Prince pads with my farsports wheels. Work very well!
I use Wiggle lifeline blue for all my carbon wheels now. Can't tell them apart from Reynolds except for the logo. They don't work well on my 2013 Farsports rims, but then nothing does.
Just got my new clinchers. 50mm deep, 30mm wide, 23mm internal. Hooked, and look like they have a nice bead shelf. Finish looks good.
470g for the front, 24h rim, and 450g for the rear, 32h rim. They were 460g +/- 15g, per the manufacturer. Spot on.

It seems in general one millimeter narrower and lower than the 4000S II.

I received my Farsports order this week. Wheels seem up to spec but will be a few days before they're on the bike. I had contacted Farsports on 11.28 asking for an update and was told the wheels would ship by the end of the week and I'd receive an email with tracking info. I contacted them again on 12.4 after not hearing anything and Kyle replied on 12.5 saying they shipped 11.23 and were already at the destination. So a bit of miscommunitcation but overall a quick turnaround. Since I didn't think they had shipped I hadn't ordered the discs or cassette yet.
11.14: order placed
11.23: order shipped
12.4: delivered (attempted) to middle of TX (non major shipping hub), picked up on 12.6
Order details:
FSC40CM-30T-DSL
DT Swiss 350 24/24H Straight pull, centerlock, 12*100/12*142
Sapim cx-ray spokes with brass, internal nipples.
The pair weigh in at 1497g (683g front, 814g rear). Listed as 1460g +/-30g.
The finish seems just as good as a DT Swiss set of carbon wheels and I don't see any flaws in the layup or drilling. The wheels did not come with valve stems, which they are not listed as having but I forgot about so something to keep in mind. I asked for rim tape since I opted for internal drilling and will be running them tubeless but they arrived with nylon rim strips. Has anyone had success using rim strips while tubeless or should I just order some rim tape?

How could you get away with a nylon rim strip? I'd be worried about sealant going underneath and into the rim. Get proper rim tape.

Do we have any confirmed actual widths for the gp5000 on the 23mm internal width of LB’s RR56C02? It seems they are slightly narrower and not as high but all the data is on 19.5mm internals
EDIT misread, i have actual reply on next page.JohnPeopleman wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 11:57 amDo we have any confirmed actual widths for the gp5000 on the 23mm internal width of LB’s RR56C02? It seems they are slightly narrower and not as high but all the data is on 19.5mm internals
Maybe for a good reason,
oversized 23c is already a bit of stretch on 21mm internal width.
The idea of putting 23c on 23mm internal width sound quite wrong, especially with tire that isn't as oversized as its predecessor.
Plus it's not like 25c gp5000 violate 105% ratio on this rim anyway. Let alone 105% theory are observed from U-shape (Zipp, old Bontrager etc.) rim with full width below brake track, not V-like shape that is at its widest at the rim edge.

The actually said "the GP5000". He didn't specify a 23mm GP5000 so we really don't know what size he's refering to.
That said, most tests are using the 25mm GP5000 which measures 25mm on a 17/18mm wide rim. On the LB RR56C02 I think you'd probably want to use a 28mm GP5000. The minimum for me would be the 25mm tire.

Is there an updated consensus on a Chinese tri spoke? I don’t like the ridge on the one Superteam wheel. Forum consensus was that profile isn’t so good.
I tend to like the HED replica of theirs without the ridge or the Corima swept profile. Those appear much closer to the old HED/Spec. wheels.
Anyone gotten one without that silly ridge on it?
Also I’m cruising for used HEDs or Spec. fronts.
