Open mold wide profile carbon wheels

I am just checking many RIM options and I found this one:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32723985797.html
They are from Deerobust... do you know the real factory? What about the quality? I tested their 270 extremely light 30mm tubular rims on CX and they worked fine.
Now I am working on a build with 38mm rim brake clincher for road and I think they are pretty good and they have a good weight: 390 grams!
Any other option on the same price range?

I'm using a set of deerobust wheels.
38mm carbon profile
Yuniper nitro disc hubs
Cx-Ray Ray's
Wheight: claimed 1290gr... real 1320gr
I'm using these wheelset for one year and I'm incredible happy
I'm thinking in buy a new set (I have only one set of wheels for my road bike), same seller, same hubs, but with 30mm carbon rims
The 30mm will be lighter, 1259gr claimed weight (+-5%... so I expect same difference as with my 38mm set... so real could be 1290gr) thinking in climbing days or periods and for have a standby wheelset.
What do you think about 30mm rims...will be better for clim or the same as 38mm?
This rims have 30mm height and 28mm outer wide, 18mm internal
Any othe recommendation??

Your 38mm rims are already light, I don’t think you will notice the weight saving of the 30mm rims. For a 70kg rider climbing on 6% grade at 280W, a weight saving of 1kg is like having 4W extra power. A weight saving of 100g is only 0.4W difference, not easy to feel.MAJ wrote:I'm using a set of deerobust wheels.

I have 1600g 50mm wheels and also 1200g 24mm deep wheels, the difference is on the acceleration from stop to start. They feel faster, more nimble. On steady climbing I can’t say I can feel the 1W of weight saving. On steep descents I can definitely feel the extra speed from the aero of the deep wheels. Strava consistently shows the faster descending on the deep wheels too.
Other option could be to buy 45mm set.emotive wrote:Your 38mm rims are already light, I don’t think you will notice the weight saving of the 30mm rims. The question is that I want to have a second wheelset...in this seller there are different light options the lightest is a set with 22mm height and 1220gr but hookless, I think more adequate for ciclocross with low tire pressures.
I think hookless are good for mtb or cyclocross for the low pressures, but not for 6,5-7bar
My 1200g wheels are hookless, but running 38mm tyres at 44psi, so no problem. I agree, if you want to use for road, and narrow tyres, stay hooked.MAJ wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 10:55 pmOther option could be to buy 45mm set.

If you want a second wheelset, consider something more aero for days when the wind is not strong, and for days when you ride flatter roads. How much do you weight?
If 60kg, go for 45mm deep
If 75kg, go for 55mm deep
Random- I bought these
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1150g-Sapim-cx ... 2749.l2649
The "1150g" claim was very effective marketing. Weight came in closer to 1165g. With the 300g hubs, Sapim CX spokes and alloy nipples I'm guessing the rims weigh about 300g per, which is pretty good.... same as the Farsports Kaze 40mms.

Since you already have 38mm wheels, when there is wind, use those. If it is calm use the deep 55mm wheels and get the full aero benefit.MAJ wrote:Hi, I'm 65kgemotive wrote:My 1200g wheels are hookless, but running 38mm tyres at 44psi, so no problem. Does anyone have an idea about rims which are 27-28mm wide at the brake track and are 60-65mm deep? I find some from farsports which are 58mm deep in their kaze series but would like some more options.

This site supplies the "RX60LH" which would be perfect, but it seems I can't order them.

Send an email, as long as you are not from the UK there is no reason why they would not sell it to youSCJKJ wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 9:10 amThe brake track is only 25mm wide on that oneAeo wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 4:17 amhttps://carbonal.net/products/700c-rim- ... carbon-rimSCJKJ wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 4:13 pmDoes anyone have an idea about rims which are 27-28mm wide at the brake track and are 60-65mm deep?
