the rims are for tubular tyres - mavic reflex CD 32 spoke on campag record hubs.

This will win an extreme makeover competition if there's any. Superb vision to transform it so radically and update something old to make it really modern.

Like the others said, the bike looks great. I have to ask though, Lightweights on a Trek 5200? Not trying to stir up a big argument, just wondering why the $6k wheels on a $900 frame (in today's money being generous).
