I'm curious to learn more about the new Lupina Monocoque saddle.

They look great, both the open and closed version, but at double the price of the normal Lupina (c. 540 EUR). I'm out.

Hi to all,
it is a project which was in development almost for one year and we just presented it here at Eurobike

If anyone is here you are welcome to stop by at the Slovenian place, hall 9.0 place B15

The price is crazy, but so is the product, a new technology was used and a bit different approach. More details on our website www.berk-composites.com

The demand is much higher than expected and we already have a waiting list, so all new orders will be shipped at the end of August.

The saddle was developed with the goal to get the best properties (comfort/flex) and although it weights a bit more than our standard Lupina we decided to keep the performance in first place and the unique construction and look. I know it is not for everyone and it isn't replacing any of our other models, but pushing in a new direction with new technology and design.

Any pictures of it mounted on a bike?

Wow. A little angular but getting on list tomorrow morning. I have 3 Lupinas with one failure. One with 3500 pretty hard miles and going strong and one new in box ready to go. I got worried they would become unavailable and couldn't bare the thought of a single day without one. Congrats on the innovation! Chapeau.
Edit to add. Just looked and too wide. Still love Berk though.

The shorter Berks always look a bit wide. I’d like to see this on a bike as well and would consider one.

The rails look longer, how do they compare to the standard Lupina short? My current saddle is set at the back of the rails and then I modified a saddle rail mount to fit behind the clamp where the rails start to angle out.

I could probably use a 0-offset seatpost

Interested in this as well..
Is it possible to clamp the new saddle in a more forward position vs a short lupina?

The front of the rails look similar to the Gelu where it rolls off from the front of the nose and swoops down and under. It’s a nice design and seems like it would allow more flex than traditional rails bonded under. The Lupina short I have on my Aethos doesn’t quite have the range for mounting, front to back so this will be much better in regards to flex.

Hi,
thanks!

The saddle rails and position in general is slightly updated (aroun 8mm more clamping compared to our Lupina Short saddle models)

@CustomMetal
Well actually both prototype frames were made more or less for fun, to see what can be done, but don't plan to pust in the frame segment. I still enjoy those custom project and always want to try something new, the left one is an "aero" frame and the right one some kind of hybrid. Always interesting to try something new and to see in which direction those bikes go.

These are cool looking frames!
Regarding saddle rail lengths:
could you please share with us what is the total length of the clamping area of the Lupina short and of this new one?
Thanks
