@dereksmalls
Yes, I'll still use a topcap of course and the bolt will screw in the steerer.

Before I laminated the plate to the fork I tried it on a steerer tube that I had (around 10cm that was cut from a fork) and tried to tighten it really hard, and let it like that for a week or so. No way you would tighten it so hard on your bike, and I think that it's basicly impossible to get it out because the second part that is glued above the plate, so there is a quite large bonding area and it holds really good. Maybe it would hold already if I would glue only the plate, but anyway rather made also the second part.
It's actually a quite easy DIY project if you have the right glue and some basic skills how to work with carbon.

New mould with my saddle design that will be used for combos - instead of the cutout there is a groove.

Already wanted to make something like that months ago, but just wasn't happy with the moulds I made, so I designed and ordered a metal mould. It took quite long that I get it, but it was worth the wait. Otherwise I'm still waiting for some other moulds, and as soon as I get them I'll have some more news. My new bike will have a combo with that saddle shell, will post some photos as soon as I make it.

Awesome. Very cool to see the progression over time.

Unfortunately I didn't know when I'll get some moulds...and I'm still waiting to get some more moulds :mrgreen:. But this one came a bit earlier than I expected, so I started with the work the same day when I get it. Anyway, I get it a week ago and the first prototype combo is already finished, I'll use it for myself and can't wait to try it!

It's 27.2mm x 350mm with gloss/matte finish and it has 140g. Could drop some more weight but because the changed saddle shape the reinforcements are a bit different and I just made it a bit stronger, and will then see how low can I go after some more experimenting. Here some photos of the saddle shell that was designed by me. Basicly it's very similar to the saddle shape that I'll use for my saddle with carbon rails, so as soon as I get the saddle rails mould I'll make also those saddles with a cutout, but as you see it can be used also for a combo:

Otherwise I also clearcoated the frame with matte clearcoat, and will then later see if I'll paint it,...not a lot of work for me to put the bicycle apart and prepare the frame for painting. I really want to try it before the real winter starts here in Slovenia. So I should have some more news in a few days.

Thanks!

Finally finished the frame, just clearcoated it with matte clearcoat, without any paint (again :mrgreen:), but I really like the 3K look and if I'll decide to paint it it's no problem at all, can make it in one day. Anyway, here some more photos, hope there aren't too many. I just put a white Berk logo with some gloss black details:
