no thanks for prompt response, copacetic.
currently installed a gelu saddle and mcfk pin so at 125g the mass reduction wouldnt be much but depends how close i get to 4kg when some parts arrive. then i might PM you.
interesting on the 2.7kg bike it is stated the saddle/post combo was >80g, any ideas how it could get so light? looks like a tune speedneedle and some high spec carbon for post? just ruminating/rambling
thanks again
peace out

The front rail attachment on my Hlod has separated from the underside of the saddle. Nothing broken or cracked. Superglue, or something else?

Typical for many Berk saddles, unfortunately.
Superglue won't help in the long term.
People have had success with Jbweld epoxies.

One of the main reasons I sold my Lupina... I did not like the fact that rails are just glued on the shell and not glued in lugs like in most other carbon saddles. Yes, it is lighter this way but not great in terms of engineering; the structure of the saddle depends on the strength of the glue (or lack of it).
Try epoxy glue, it will probably work.

Yes I used the JB Weld to reattach one of the rails, rode a couple of times until the replacement arrived so is now sitting as a back up... I could not fault Jure’s customer service

Thinking to try a Lupina (padded and oval rails), two questions: what is its stack height and does the oval version also suffer the rail detachment issue mentioned above?

This eBay seller currently has 6 Berks shipping from Hong-Kong, given the difficulty to source Berk Saddles with Covid at the moment in the US (I've been waiting 6 weeks already and the saddle is still locked at customs on its way to the store), I am tempted to order from this guy:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_odkw=& ... k&_sacat=0

Any idea if this is a legit Berk reseller?

Don’t normally post reviews / comments (good or bad) but have had dealings twice with Jure at Berk in the last month, and he has been excellent in sorting out a problem and comfort of my Lupina with the level of responsiveness, understanding, customer service (some of the best I have ever experienced) and willingness to do far more than I could realistically ask or expect that I feel I have to publicly recognise this and make sure he gets the credit.
To me the level of service would be enough to buy products from him

I have a Ritchey single-bolt clamp on my seatpost. It indicates a max torque of 12 Nm, but my Berk Lupina has a sticker showing 5 Nm as max torque. I torqued it up last night to 5 Nm but today on a ride the seat moved when going over a bump. Does anyone know if 12 Nm is ok with the Ritchey single-bolt clamps? I've searched and this question has come up before, but no clear answer from Berk themselves.

in my experience, regrettably, yes. a list and a lupina, both did suffer this issue after short use period, at a rider weight of 62 kg.

I asked Berk the same question 2 yrs ago when I bought my Lupina. It is safe to go to the spec. torque of the clamp 12Nm. As you can see in my signature my Scott Foil has the same 1 bolt clamp. I have torqued it at 10Nm with some carbon paste. Never had any problems with it.

Send an email to Berk to be sure. He will give you the answer.
