Thanks for the comments, you know - or you can imagine - that this bike is a pure joy to ride.
@Calnago
Yes, they do make SM Rolls in white:

I just do not think that white saddle is a good idea, after a few rides and it looks 'dirty'.
@Wingnut
I agree that the bottle cage would perfectly suit an older frame but many used such cages in the 90s as well.

I had to go for the full vinrage looks so... Campagnolo Chorus/Athena pedals with Campagnolo Chorus toe clips and Colnago logo straps!
Do you like toe clips and straps? I have some I could be using on my Vitus but I just couldn't get on with them. I didn't really have the right shoes so perhaps that makes a difference, but they were just that little bit too fiddly compared to clipless. I like downtube shifters though, yours are very nice .
I started riding in the early 1990s with clips and straps so I got used to it. Of course I prefer clipless but the Master is a bike I don't ride that often. It is more of a dream project, the dream bike that I could not afford as a teenager.
Vintage bike on a vintage car (not mine):
A 1997 Record seatpost would look good on it.
That one looks like a Chorus 8s seatpost?

That is an Athena c-record series seatpost. I also have a 1997 Record seatpost (like the one in the photo) but I prefer the c-record Athena. I think it matches the rest of the groupset better.
good day kgt !
Just got myself a modern Colnago master x light in PR 82.
I have intention to build it up with a quil stem.
As this is my first " vintage " kind of build.
Can i seek a few pointers from you.
1) the bike comes with a threadless Precisa fork - do i need to get a threaded fork in order for me to fit a quil stem ?
2) i believed a Chris King GripNut Sotto Voce headset will work. what size will i be looking at 1”, 1-1/8” ?
Thank you in advance !
I agree on quill stem on this frame, it look so much more elegant.
I had a threadless precisa fork and I asked from a workshop to thread it for me on the lathe. A good workshop can do it prefectly.
I guess there are also adapters to use quill stem on threadless fork but the result will not be as nice.
In any case the fork is 1 inch and I would suggest a Campagnolo headset for aesthetic reasons.

I might look for a threaded 1" precisa fork in case I want to do a neo retro build.
Can I check. For the master, we are looking at a 1" threaded headset right?
Hello,
..not a lot of mine in this forum. sorry.
but: to be honerst - this is a late 90ies frame set. Master x-lite is on fire since 1997 when i'm right. Before was it the Master Olympic, early 90ies.
This groupset is a 8-speed.. produce sinze end of 80ies, early 90ies the 8 speed Ergos was on. So what kind of sense is it to spend an middle-end 90ies bike some end 80ies parts?
I had a Master x-lite from 1998 with 10 speed Chorus +a Colnago Tecnos 12/1995 NOS with Chorus Record 11 speed + a Master Olympic Decor with 10 speed Record - all in perfect shape.So i know whats on.
Sorry but the parts on this bike spoken here are nice. But on the wrong frameset.
Cheers
