How will you stop the polished alumnium from oxidising?

Clear coat
And if I ever meet an aardvark, I'm going to step on its damn protruding nasal implement until it couldn't suck up an insect if its life depended on it.

Here's one for the experts. I believed that my Merlin Extralight is a 1994 model and only used by Rooks during his final seasons in the TVM-Gazelle team (1994-1995, disquised as a Gazelle).

But I came across this photo of Breukink and Rooks taken during the 1993 Dutch National Championship. And somehow I think that "Rossin" is also my Merlin. Opinions? Better pics? Information about 1993 lugless Rossin frames? Everything is welcome...

Food for thought...

Playing with the idea of building it up like this. Wheels are 38mm carbon with Dugast tubes, stem is a painted Syntace F99, brakes polished alu Zero Gravities, saddle a Concor (vintage, perforated leather), cranks my old model Powerarms with Q-rings (black or silver), pedals are white Keo's or white Speedplay, seatpost, headset and bottlecages are Campagnolo Record, grips are Hudz, the rest is the tuned 10sp Record which was already on the black version, bartape is my prefered vintage black cotton.

nicely done
specialy that you kept the decals simple and classy

about the white pedals, those white keo pedals look very grey and ugly when they get old
also the bearings never were that good
i can not talk for the speedplays but some polished pedals would not look bad to

keep those pictures coming :beerchug:

Nice, but I would leave it partly unpainted, to emphasize the fact that this is - in fact - a titanium frame.

Think you were meaning San Marco Regal, not Concor? (to get the perforated leather)

IMO the Regal is the nicest saddle on a classy ride, I like how it hides the seatclamp.

Samuel, no, I do mean the Concor: this one, without the purple logo...
Adri, doesn't the fact that it reads "Merlin Extralight" already emphasize the fact that this is - in fact - a titanium frame? I've never seen a steel, alu or carbon Merlin Extralight ;)
Tochnics, I considered Campagnolo Record pedals which are polished alu.

8) Here's another small teaser: custom paintjob on a Syntace F99 stem...

I like where this is heading.

Thought the brakes would be Zero Gravities and not Campa. Why the change (not that there is anything wrong with Campagnolo brakes!)?
