Cervelo Soloist - 6.80kg w/pedal, cage, mount ready to ride

*Update* swapped to the Maxxis High road SL 2nd gen clincher. Now the bike is 6.8kg sharp!
Did a short ride after rain. not too much difference between the P-zero clincher interms of speed, but hopefully will be faster when the spring comes
In a world dominated by Specialized, I'm kinda tired to see all the Sl8 can easily achieve sub 6.8 or even sub 6...Didn't see any "new" soloist post in the gallery yet, in fact I didn't see that many cervelo! So here is mine soloist!
The Stock bike is somewhat proky, but I finally get mine to 6.8x kg territory! I try to it very well capable of moderate daily (ab)use, without any crazy ww stuff that's only good for scale. And ofc, added many blings for the coffee stops
*If I swapped to the new high road SL that I have in hand, it would be another 100g of saving but these p-zeros are just going so strong...

Weight with pedals and cages and mounts, 6.88kg.
This took more than a year to transform, many trails and errors along the way, I think it's the ideal balance between aero and lightweight for a mid-range frame, perfect for a weekend worrior like me. Kept it 2x and 34t for hills and mid to high depth wheels for aero, steel spokes and DT240 hub for easy maintenance. I Put a lot of effort to make it easy to live with and feel comnfortable. The saddle is more comfy than the 3D printed Fizik that I have, albeit it's essentially a WW product, Bartape is very light but I love the texture and dampening, Crank is carbon but very robust and not THM level money, etc, etc...
Also tried to use something different to improve the brake feel, I used Red-line likewater suspension oil for brake fluid (it's actually even better than trickstuff's brake oil in physical properties) combined with EZmtb's olive and barb, which is said to have a larger inner diameter for a better flow (*all learnt from the MTB fourm). The brake feel does feel smoother especially in cold weather.
Build list:
Frame: 23 cervelo soloist ember 54cm
Wheelset: Farsports wave laced w/ DT240 and CX-ray. Front 45-50mm depth, IW:26mm,EW:32mm, Rear 55-60mm depth IW:21mm EW:30mm
Tyres: P-zero race clincher 28mm w/ TPU tubes
Crank:Elilee XXE X320 carbon crank with Ti-spindle
Power meter: Sigeyi AXO spider
BB: BBinfinite T47A steel bearing
FD: Ultegra 8170 w/ K-edge chain guide
RD: Ultegra 8170 w/ Dura-Ace cage
RD hanger: Framesandgear
Casette: Dura-Ace 9270 11-34
Caliper: Dura-Ace 9270. 3D-printed Ti front caliper mount
Cockpit: Exs Aerover 110/380
Bartape: Exs Airtape. (*Also I love my lightweight cute cat barend plugs!)
Disc rotor: Galfer wave 160/140
Saddle: Berk Lipa w/ ti yoke and carbon cradle
Pedal:Look Keo ceramic Ti (I personally love the older gen aesthetic)
All rainbow/candy colored screws are Ti-screws from S-parts. Devil is in the detail!

I bought a bunch and somewhat mix and matched a little. The named ones are from GodandFamous(supporting NYC local brands!) and tokubetsu na mono, also some generic ones.

Wow I love it some beautiful touches and sensible purchases to produce and great overall build!

No troubles at all, fitted really quick, I think the steerer is the same across Cervelo internal routed frames.

Well done & well researched. Very well selected $/g core components on this build.
This build completely overcomes the general cervelo vibe way to liven it up with a great use of tasteful colors.
Id recommend vinyl wrapping the cranks for a more cohesive look. Feels like it still needs some logo or fun color touch instead of a blackout but to me those stock logos dont quite match. Maybe blackout and then stripes like you did with the seatstay, or something similar.

Very nice and inspiring!
I would not notice the cute cat plugs, so thanks for pointing them out. Seriously want. Where did you get them? Not seeing them on the EXS site.

Not OP but I think I stumbled upon them in my Aliexpress recommendations the other day: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807867364081.htmltwoangstroms wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 3:11 pmVery nice and inspiring!

They look to be made by Chaser, the same brand that makes more generic versions of the TIparts lightweight brake caliper mounts.
This! Yea they are made by Chaser. Never knew they are selling on aliexpress thou hahaha, could save me a lot of shipping in future.frnchy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 4:46 amNot OP but I think I stumbled upon them in my Aliexpress recommendations the other day: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807867364081.htmltwoangstroms wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 3:11 pmVery nice and inspiring!

Kudos for modding the brakes. K04Ti at next maintenance interval, I bet
Sigeyi sticker fits surprisingly well with the replacement bolts around the bike

Mild derail, but Chaser IS the brand that makes the Ti-parts caliper mounts. Ti-parts just resells for a markup, they don't even remove the Chaser logo.

Oh yeah, I forgot they did that, I was referring to the (much) more expensive 3D printed version as pictured on OPs bike, which have "BridGE" branding on the tiparts website photos. No idea if that's actually a brand itself, but it seems as though the chaser mounts and the 3d printed ones are separate.dudemanppl wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 7:36 pmMild derail, but Chaser IS the brand that makes the Ti-parts caliper mounts.
