Bought a Dura-Ace complete, but shop was willing to swap over SRAM Red E1 from a size 49 S-Works they also have in stock. It's my dream bike, stem absolutely has to be slammed (won't be as low as the Allez as the Allez is a size 49, and the size 52 SL8 will have a higher stack). Will make it work (might have to swap out bars if they're too wide/stem too short). Will be fine!

Cheers and correct! Retired from work and been sitting on the couch for many years doing nothing but gaming. Figure it's high time I get fit, so 5 months ago I started riding again. I'm a mountain biker, so road riding (and wearing lycra ) is new to me. Centennial Park is my local (I'm 49 and ridden there since I was a little kid, actually learned how to ride a bike there so lots of history with the place). It's where most if not all the fast Sydney group ride and elite racers train (the Nero Show guys literally lap the *f##k* out of me).

For the first few months I struggled just to find the motivation to ride, doing only 3 laps once a week, but that quite quickly became 3 laps twice a week, to 3 times a week and now I'm riding 4-5 days a week and with this bike I'm comfortably doing 5-8 laps each time, so 100% I'm getting stronger and I'm at a stage with my fitness now that I could join a local club (there are a LOT of them!) and join some group rides without fear of getting dropped!

The plan is to eventually at least participate in a few local races as Heffron Park (also local to me). I was never strong enough even when I was fit to do well in mountain bike races, but entering them was so fun, so similarly I'd not be in it to win it, but just to soak up the vibe and have fun!

Yes! Slam them and then buy next big size when you can't fit

Or do what i do. lose the gut, ride as many hours necessary until you fit

but never ride with high stack.

Just installed the same 4mm CeramicSpeed dustcover on my SL6, and then noticed a quite substantional gap (a hair over 1mm). I can even partially see letters on the top bearing.
Is it the case for your build?

I just had a very close look and nope not at all. No gap, super tight.

Bought these Lucendi bar end plugs for the SL8, but the Burgh bar tape on the Sl8 is just too thick and these Lucendi bar end plugs are so soft they just deformed trying to get them in.

All good though as I've moved the Extralite bar end plugs from this bike to my SL8 and now the Lucendi bar end plugs live on my Sl6 (they look better too as they're black and the Extralite ones are a weird shade of super dark grey).

There is no final on a weightweenie build.

I'm just gathering my parts for my Ultralight 56cm SL6. Not certain what the weight will be, but right now, I am at 6kg and I have not even tried too hard.
