Specialized Epic Evo (minus the Evo part)

The Specialized Epic EVO is such a great platform to build upon. Also no headset cable routing thank god. I don't need 120mm of suspension so I am building this to be a regular Epic without the Brain. I went with the non S-Works version because it's only a 100g difference give or take. So bought a full bike for €1000 less than a S-Works frame lol. I found a 2022 Evo in the beautiful Doppio colorway on a Spanish webshop. It arrived with only a minor-sized hole in the side in a Cannondale box.

Frame weight came in at 1590g (excl shock) (incl hanger, cage bolts, and all other suspension components)

This Deluxe shock is quite chunky and will be replaced with a Sidluxe Ultimate.

So frame weight with shock is 1950g, when I replace the shock it should be 1830g, and if I can source the S-Works carbon upper link I can drop some more grams.

Transferred everything over from my Merida hardtail. Weight, as pictured, is 9,6kg, this is with winter tires and heavy grips.

what does it weigh now? i've tried those grips & didnt like them, pretty hard with not much actual grip

Should be 9.38kg right now, still need to confirm it. I actually really like the extralite grips, I find them to be quite soft and they form to your hand over time. Only downside is that you need to glue them in place. Did you try the black ones or another color? Because the other colors are lighter but harder.

I am also blown away by how efficient the bike is on the climb. So I am now debating whether or not I should get a sidluxe with a remote lockout or not.

Also need to add 100g to my previous weigh in’s, so now it actually weighs 9.3kg, somehow my wheels gained 100g

Hi, can you share experience of dt swiss twin shot and sidluxe combo usage?

I can’t i use a Rockshox remote since I switched to the sidluxe, you can’t control 2 lockouts with the dt swiss one
