Great bike and so many areas to drop weight still.

I'm waiting on Darimo to produce and in-line post before swapping over. I'm too fat for the saddle, unfortunately.

As much as I love the THM power cranks, the left only 4iii PM just doesn't have a good track record, so will stick with my Quarq / Carbon-Ti combo.

And can never own a bike without a CS OSPW, so always going to have an extra 30g there over the standard arm.

Have you tried the SLF system instead of CS?

Why not the carbon Ti rings?
I used carbon ti rings with SRAM AXS and they were a total PITA. Constant chain drops in both directions unless it was set micro millimetre perfect. In the end, I only dared to change up or down in cogs 2-9. Any others and you risked a drop or a non-shift. Eventually wrecked my drive side chainstay due to jammed chain which smashed the carbon. I couldn't get it to work at all with a flattop chain. The KMC X12 was better but still a compromise. Eventually gave up, switched to SRAM crank and rings and it worked flawlessly straightaway.

They may work better with Shimano of course, given front shifting is better and more forgiving of setup with Di2 than AXS. However I've tried to get confirmation of compatibility of the rings with 12s DA from carbon ti, and they can't confirm this yet. I may consider it down the line as they do look fantastic, but the shifting woes when used with AXS have made me pretty wary tbh. The Praxis rings are only a 23g penalty too.

You would have been using the V1 rings on SRAM which were shit. I aided in the production of the V2 rings which now work perfectly (it was actually just the big ring that was problematic).

They work fantastic on R9200 also.

I was using the X-AXS rings. How do you determine if they're V1 or V2? I assume the X-AXS rings aren't for use with DA9200 though, given they're only available in the SRAM ratios (46/33 etc.)?

Cheers. I did originally have a 'Speed of Light' colour scheme frame on order, but after enquiring, Specialized told me the paint job added 'between 200 and 300g' to the frame weight! I have always like the carbon / chameleon green colour, the only downside is that so does everyone else, so its not exactly exclusive...

Only way I know is confirm it with Carbon Ti when ordering... but your experience screams of V1

Okay, thanks. In which case I think I'll email Carbon-Ti and politely ask if they'll exchange my two expensive sets of paperweights for versions that actually work!

They are indeed offering an exchange service for those with V1 AXS rings.

The serial numbers are tiny, but found on the inside of the rings.

They'll only exchange the big rings since small ones are fine.
