There's still a lot TBC, I'm collecting tomorrow morning and then will get some photos up of the build.
I've massively missed my C60, I wouldn't say I regret selling it - as I couldn't afford to keep it and have another bike to suit my needs for discs and wider tyres. But I've been hugely missing the build quality of the Colnago C series. Nothing i've seen yet compares. Can't wait to have one back in the stable.
My Ridley Noah Fast Frameset was collected last night, so was dully stripped and this is the next steed.

Looking forward to this one
Don't worry, this is not the bar stem combo, and it will be slammed Collected this morning, sat in the boot at Heathrow airport while I'm away in Athens. Want to be building it! PS if anybody sees this post I'm in Athens riding on Wednesday and hiring a roadie.
Oo, but you're on a Basso so two greats there! I just missed the build quality from the last few bikes.. this has it!MrCurrieinahurry wrote: ↑Mon Nov 22, 2021 6:46 amSounds like should be a great build always look forward to a colnago

Waiting on a fair few bits, mocked up the frameset and combos before I started the other day.
Need the hydro cables to arrive, but enjoying the dimensions so far. In fact, I actually genuinely cannot stop looking at it. I'd forgotten the quality of these framesets. Incredible.

i am thinking of builing up C64. since i am having soo much shit with Ridley.
Hi Jackie, no absolutely not going full internal. My Noah Disc, while awesome, which the biggest PITA for adapting and tinkering etc because of full internal.jackie wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 5:13 amwill u be doing full internal ?welchy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 5:41 amWaiting on a fair few bits, mocked up the frameset and combos before I started the other day.

I wanted this C64 as it is the earlier S/N without any internal routing from the bars. So cables are internal, but only from downtube.
I think you're probably having the same predicament!!!
yeah.. to be honest. while ridley was a good bike. the customer service sucks and the warranty is worse.. am looking at Colnago now.. and also want to look at those from the downtube..
where did u get your? i dont want those that goes full internal as that is really a PITA to build

I bought mine from a private seller online buddy. It was a struggle to find a normal routed one!jackie wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 11:47 amyeah.. to be honest. while ridley was a good bike. the customer service sucks and the warranty is worse.. am looking at Colnago now.. and also want to look at those from the downtube..

Looking good! Any idea about the final weight of the bike?
A bit weighty at the moment, 7.66kg. That's with everything as you see pictured. But I've done zero refining. Heavy bars, stem, inner tubes, bar tape etc. I think I could knock it down to 7.4kg without sacrificing too much.
Hey buddy, funny, I saw yours after this and remember the conversation we had regarding your Cannondale. Safe to say the C-Series is an absolute league above anything else. My view on drivetrain and wheels is they can always be updated in time, it's like buying a house and doing the rennovations. Provided the framework and structure of the house is solid you can put an extension on in time!
The C64 for me is just that, I wanted one for ages but couldn't afford the price tag intially with circumstances. So I saved and scoured, I knew I wanted external cabling after the Ridley Noah which set me back to a precise frame of C64. Then it was the case of waiting for a C64 in a colourway that I agreed with and in my size which matched the requirements and finally spotted one on eBay.
As for the reasons behind liking this frameset, everybody needs to know that you will get lighter bikes out there. There will always be a new Spesh, a Parlee etc etc that is lighter, more aero and those bikes suit some people way way way more than me. Ultimately I'm 189cm, hover between 85-88kg and I (try) and ride hard, which means the bike get's a lot of stick. It'll be raced in crits and everything in between. Being 500g lighter in weight will not really impact me massively, so it's more for me having a bike I can trust mentally when descending or heading into corners. When looking into the Ridley and building other bikes the finish is never great, there is always the odd bit of carbon layup I spot inside the frame I worry about (for no reason as I am no carbon specialist!). But the Colnago doesn't worry me, it's built tough, I like the lugs etc. I would be equally happy if it was sprayed all black and nobody knew it was a Colnago, as to me it's about the confidence in the bike.
If you're thinking of buying one out there - do it, the ride is sublime.
