It's been a while since I posted one of my bikes here, but this is my current road build. David Kirk Onesto (953 Stainless) with the Terraplane seat stays. I've had it about a month, and it's a blast to ride, very responsive, and the descending/handling is great with the terraplane stays, they keep the rear wheel planted nicely without hopping around on bad roads.

Frame is 100% 953 Stainless, finish is a bead blast, with polished logos, and Llewellyn Lugs.

Build List

Nice to bump into another Onesto owner here (and saw this on Paceline too)! Very much enjoying mine as well.

Beautiful frame. Thanks for sharing.

Could you tell us a bit about the design process and decisions you went through with Mr Kirk?

@diecast, the process was by far the easiest I've had with a custom builder. Dave has a questionnaire of preferences for the builds, what kind of riding, style of riding, previous bikes with likes/dislikes of their qualities. In addition, we had lengthy discussions on what type of build style (lugs vs fillet), tubing sizes (OS vs XL), and he provided great context as to what he thought would work for my riding style, height/weight etc. The terraplane stays were an option, and I'm glad I chose them, the rear wheel stays very planted, the back end doesn't get "hoppy" when really going hard through rough turns, and on descents it really shines.

I opted for the standard finish, which is a bead blast and polished logos, which turned out great, it's nice to have a completely stainless steel bike where the work can be admired.
