Exceptional finish on that frame. Classy and dramatic at the same time.

At the risk of harshing anyone's buzz, the THM stem wouldn't be my choice. All these round tubes and then that massive angular stem. I think it clashes with the overall look, it's distracting, draws the eye. The somewhat rounder Darimo IX2 stem to match the seatpost or something similar would be my preference.

Nice build!

My Festka Rover is going to paint shop soon and will be built with Campagnolo, Schmolke and Berk parts... Hoping to get in under 8 kilos.

5 out of 5 stars. Love the carbon details.

Eurberg's Rover will be something special too.

Hi all and many thanks for your kind words, I am glad you like it.

Initially I did want the colour and design to be low key and then at the last minute I wanted something more 'shouty' BUT I was too late and my frame had already been painted, a good month or so earlier than expected... But now I have it all built, I am so glad of this because the low key 'ness' has really grown on me.

Yes I totally know what you mean on the finish and the stem, however in the 'flesh' the stem does work better (IMO). You can't really see on the images but the downtube gets more square section near the BB and on this model the chainstays are 'square' section. All of the tubes seem generally quite thick and when sat on the bike looking down, the stem size fits nicely with the top tube, even from the side, for me the stem is similar in size to the headtube 'lugs'. I also thought this stem worked because it is a large size frame, maybe on a smaller frame it would look too much?????!!. I am also a big fan of THM products, and also like the garmin mount.... For me, when choosing, I just thought that the Darimo stem looked too delicate for this frame... But yes fair comment :D

As for the ride.... I need to report back when I have put some real miles on it. At the moment I am still fine tuning, the build and the position..... BUT initially it feels really 'solid', light and responsive. Very similar to my previous S-Works Tarmac which was over 1Kg lighter! But I have only done a couple of short flat rides.. So I will report back....

Cheers,
Lig.

Thanks Guys...

Ok so the Sun is out and the pics are below... if you would like to see anything specific then just let me know.

It is a hard colour to photo as it just changes so much with the light, the photos dont seem to do it justice. Also because I chose a matt finish, it doesn't 'pop' as much as gloss does... but that's what I wanted !! :D .

Cheers,
Lig.
