Excellent build, I'm very happy to have found this thread! I'm surprised there we're more questions/compliments about the vinyl work you did, it turned out great. I work at a signage company and was actually discussing with a buddy the other day, wrapping certain sections of my TCR to take it to a black and white CCCesque motif. Don't want to hijack so I'll try keep this pretty short - being proficient in Illustrator and reasonably proficient in wrapping would you recommend vectorizing the sections I want to cover and cutting on our plotter and installing or knifeless taping the whole thing? Secondly, how did the vinyl hold up to washing (I'm pretty particular about my bike being clean haha)?

Frame is gloss black/carbon and the goal would be to cover the red in matte black and then overlay the Giant logo on the downtube and the TCR logo on the top tube, all other graphics would remain covered by the matte black. I have access to either 3M or Avery wrap vinyl, Primer 94, knifeless tape, etc and Roland printer/plotters so I should be set from that perspective. Pic from the internet of the bike below. Thanks in advance!

Hey thanks for the kind words. I've actually completely done over my vinyl. I'll post some new pics later tonight.

I used 3M 2080 automotive wrapping vinyl and knifeless tape. Precutting would be a nightmare to get straight. Automotive vinyl washes just like paint. I don't wash my bike often but I do wipe down with glass cleaner before/after every ride with no problems.

Here's a few pics from my phone.

With my new Galfer rotors and J&L axles the bike is 6.93kg with the 65/42 Cadex wheelset and 6.82kg with the cadex42s

I've also sanded the handlebars down to the carbon and repainted them to match the matte black of my bike.

Thanks for the prompt reply! Your vinyl work is excellent and really motivating me to get my lazy butt in gear and do it. Thanks for the tips and enjoy that beautiful bike!

How do you find the tires? how's their puncture protection?

I've actually never gotten a puncture on mine, I removed them over the winter because the sidewall started to tear. I actually still have that tire mounted on my back wheel which I use on the trainer. But veloflex aren't really recommended for such wide hookless wheels so since then I've had schwalbe pro one TT which I was puncturing like every week. As of last week I'm back on my black Vittoria corsa g2.0.

I'm waiting for my Pirelli velo race SL to arrive but they're also black.

I'm thinking of trying out the enve tires or going to the regular pro ones. I miss my tan walls even tho the black is fresh
