Hey guys, here's my new gravel build -

It's the latest Open U.P frame built with Campagnolo's new 13 spd Ekar groupset
Has Farsports gravel 30 wheelset set up tubeless with Carbon-Ti hubs and Gravelking+ slick 38's

Final weight: 7.49kg

288D618B-A401-4A7E-A3AF-1135BC04A024.jpeg
Here's a breakdown of parts and weights -

Frame- Open UP size Medium - 1040g
Fork - 390g
Seatpost - Carbonda - 170g
Saddle - Pro Stealth Carbon 142mm - 172g
Stem - Kalloy Uno 110mm w/ ti bolts- 101g
Bars - Pro Discover Carbon Gravel 40cm - 195g
Bartape - Supacaz kush
bottle cages - lifeline Carbon - 18g each
Brakes - Ekar calipers - 195g
Rotors - Galfer Road Centerlock
160mm - 98g
140mm - 76g
Rear derailleur - Ekar - 275g
Crankset - Ekar 170mm 40t - 615g
Bottom Bracket - Ekar BB386 - 50g
Chain - Ekar 13 Spd - 242g
Shifters - Ekar - 420g
Cassette - Ekar 9-42 - 390g
Wheels: Farsports Gravel 30 - 1240g
hubs - Carbon-Ti
Spokes - Sapim Cx-Ray
Tyres - Panaracer Gravelking+ slick 38 - 330g
Pedals - Favero Assioma Duo w/ expedo CXR - 344g

I'm pretty sure those weights are correct but I could be wrong, all I know is that all up with mounts, cages, pedals it weighs 7.49kg on my part tool scales.

Will probably end up swapping my Schmolke 0 setback seatpost onto this from my Canyon and getting a Darimo 25mm setback for that.
Which should save almost 100g off the Open UP.

Not really sure where else I could save much weight but seems pretty light to me.
Factor Ostro VAM - 6.67kg
Open U.P w/ Ekar - 7.2kg
Canyon Ultimate EVO Disc - 6.17kg (retired)

Very nice. Glad that people are finally looking at Campagnolo again. Seem to be on to a winner with Ekar.

If I wanted a gravel bike I'd want it to be EKAR equipped. Congratulations, nice way to start the new year.

I didn’t know Carbon-Ti hubs are available with N3W freehub. Did you get the wheelset from Farsports with that freehub?

That looks really good. I would suggest adding a protective strip, formed from something like Kydex, to the rear of the seat tube though: a mud covered tyre would likely be close enough to damage at least the paintwork.

I had to order the n3w freehub direct from Carbon-Ti in Italy

Thanks mate, I actually put a protective strip on the down tube but not a bad idea for the back of the seat tube too. It looks really close in the photos but it's actually got about 20mm gap with the 38's. I probably won't run anything bigger either, maybe a 38 gravelking SS through winter

Very nice ride. ¿How are you liking Ekar?
Those wheels look nice; at least light. Do they feel stiff?

Thanks mate, Ekar is amazing. The shifting is so fast and precise. Gear ratios are incredible.
Yeah Farsports wheels are super stiff and the rims are so light that you really feel the difference.

Very cool. Really like the Ekar stuff, was considering selling my AXS mullet groupset and running Ekar but at the moment there is really no power meter work around until somebody makes some 13s chainrings.

I'm running the Favero Assioma Duo power meter pedals with Expedo CXR pedal bodies.

I entertained this a few months back but saw that people were having to cut the sole on their Specialized Recon shoes and I'm not super excited about that.

Yeah I didn't have to cut my giro's at all, there's actually quite a bit of clearance for me.
