Just purchased a 2019 Tarmac Expert Disc so I don’t continue to wear down the rim surface of my current Tarmac. The idea is to build this up as close as possible to my current Tarmac, so that the main differences I will feel is the disc, but the fit will be the same. I could not justify the cost of an Sworks frame for a bike that was specifically purchased for the bad weather. So, I will work with what I can to get this down to a respectable weight but stay within my financial means. Right now, I am just trying to build it up so it can be ridable. I will upgrade parts when I can afford to do so.

Here is the list: (Weights listed are from parts I already have or have installed on my current Tarmac)

Frame: 2019 Specialized disc Tarmac Expert
Wheels: Roval CLX32/DT240 hubs (clinchers) 728g/599g (1327g with Hub)
Groupset: (Still working out details with seller) Sram Etap 11spd HRD
Crankset: Sram Red 11spd 52/36 172.5 W Quarq-718g
Quarq PM - 118g
Pedals:Exustar -PR200 Titanium – 187g
Stem: Extralite 110mm -12 deg – 82g
Seatpost: Tarmac (But will get a Darimo eventually) - 176g
Saddle: Specialized Power Mimic (155mm) – 161g
Cassette: Shimano DA 9100 11-28 186g
Chain: PYC SP1101 X11SL 11spd - 223g
Bars: Specialized Aerofly II (40cm)-218g
Bartape: SLF Motion Evo sticky – 40g
Bottle cages: SLF Motion Evo Cage – 39g (For both, bolts included)
SLF OSWP: SLF Motion Evo Speed system -68g
Tires: Conti GP5000 28mm 228g/232g
Inner tubes: Tubolitos – 78g for both front and rear
Top cap:Specialized- 4g
Dust cap: Specialized 5g

If you are buying a used groupset, you might have a buy a new hose for the rear brake if the previous owner had a smaller frame size. If the front hose is also too short, you can switch the original rear hose to the front. This way you don't have to buy 2 hoses.

Still assuming that you are buying a used groupset I would get new olive/barb, pads and rotors. I would get a Sram bleeding kit if you don't already have one. Depending on the frame of the previous owner, you might also need shorter or longer bolts for the rear caliper (based on chainstay thickness).

IIRC the wheels should come with centerlock lockring. Shimano rotors always come with a lockring but every other brand of rotor don't come with a lockring.

Thru-Axle should come with the frame so unless you want lighter ones there is no need.

Your list is missing the chain and bottom bracket.

Stock specialized axles aren't worth replacing. If you really want something lighter, just get aethos axles.

OK thanks. I saw some folks here recommend some J&L axels. May look further into those if I end up with some left over funds.

Anyone have recommendations on rotors?

Just do XTR 140 rotors. The J&L axles are around the same weight as the stock axles.

I am a shitty descender so I prefer atleast a 160 in front but yeah XTR are a good choice for centerlock.

Specialized Sworks 20mm seatpost. Hoping to get a Darimo zero setback ordered soon, but need to focus on getting the groupset purchased first.

Don't know what price you're currently looking at but have you seen this offer on SigmaSports?

Holy crap, you managed to get your hands on an Aerofly II 40cm? I've been searching for one for ages.

Yeah I may look into praxis rings as that's what I use on my rim Tarmac. I think I read something last week that mentioned I would need to make some sort of adjustment to the crankset if I wanted to use Praxis. Will have to read up on that and make sure. But, for now my funds are pretty tapped out, so I'll just roll with these for now and then make a change when I can.
