Got a pair of Tririg Omega SL brakes that I am looking forward to be testing since I have been using the non-SL versions on my TT bike for years (Omega One aero and previous iteration). 66g per unit. At first I was considering using AX Orion brakes but they are more "speed modulators" than real brakes...

These Recon aluminium cassettes are maybe not the most durable, but pretty lightweight (here in 11-28 version)

Garbaruk 28T direct mount chainring (cannondale hollowgram spindle). I decided to go 1x for the drivetrain, and want to have a 1:1 ratio for steep clilmbs. Since my cassette's largest sprocket is 28T...

Once fully stripped out of it's paint using the good old Stanley knife technique, frame weight came down to 630g (including the new stickers ). So that is 75g of paint removed. Unsurprisingly not a lot since the paint was very thing and you could see the carbon through it. Compared to when I remove paint from my Supersix Hi-mod, that was 141g saved

64 grams saved vs. the original Nano fork, by switching to a later model Hi-mod fork and removing the paint from it

No clearcoat, only spray it with 303 Aerospace Protectant, to avoid any issue with the UV light in case of prolonged exposure to sunlightreedplayer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 10:00 amexcellent. are you going to cover it with a thin layer of clearcoat?RouarierDmer wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 2:01 pmOnce fully stripped out of it's paint using the good old Stanley knife technique, frame weight came down to 630g (including the new stickers ). Ah well done, which pain stripping technique did you use?
I ordered the decals online on Unlinited Colors website (Netherlands), they were fast and responsive, only the shipping fees are a bit on the high side

To strip the paint i used a slightly different method to what i had seen before
I used the back side (Non seratted edge ) of a hacksaw blade to scrap the paint away
I found this out by accident when i couldnt wait to start and thats all i had availble to try the razor blade process
Blades are quite cheap and you have the whole length to use up when it starts getting blunt
You are also able to bend the blade to scrap round any round tubes

After 3 months waiting, I finally received my Darimo Nexum integrated handlebar. 360mm width and stem length of 110mm. They also told me that 3K finish is lighter than UD, so my guess is that UD is a cosmetic layer that they put on top of the 3K layup that insures the bar's rigidity

Darimo seatpost, I am planning on shortening it if necessary, but light anyway

Tuned a pair of SRAM Red 22 levers. Since I am going to run one-by chainrings anyway, I removed the whole shifting mechanism and gear lever on the left shifter. Also stripped them to bare carbon. And since I wanted to gain experience in the Dark Art of Drillium, I had fun with some light Dremel action on the levers to remove material while still keeping it functional for braking. Let's see how it goes.
From 306 down to 189 grams. I still need hoods to be able to compare like for like. Hopefully still about 100g saved all in all, but more to come on that one...
