I am a Masters D racer/fondo rider, returning to cycling after retirement. Am stunned by advances in training, nutrition, gear. At my age, my main interest is in getting as good as I can, while realizing that once I reach that point, the goal is minimizing the rate of decline....

Event bike is Tarmac SL5/DA/Carbon Ti hubs and LightBicycle 46mm rims, 58cm, 7.0kg; training bike is 2017 Trek Domane SL8 stock, winter bike is Giant Defy 1. Riding in the rain is a winter fact of life on west coast of Canada. I try not to be a gearaholic, but am going to be patient and aim for a Tarmac SL7, or similar light, aero, comfortable(ish) frame.
