For hoods I got some heat shrink tubing;







Weighing in at a mere 18 grams compared to the stock Sram hoods at 50 grams.

I can certainly recommend it. Tuning your shifters is a lot of fun! and you should be able to save about 50 grams.

I think it'd look especially good on your bike too as it goes with your philiosophy of keeping a budget. If you only count the Schmolke shifter clamps at 50 €, it's a cost effective 1 € per gram weight saving.

On Schmolke's own website they offer the clamps specifically for Sram now if you don't want to go through the hassle of using Shimano clamps; https://www.schmolke-carbon.com/product ... er-clamps/

Now down to 5423 grams. Some lighter wheels and some Vittoria Corsa Speed tubs shaved some 200 grams off the build!

I got a second wheelset for the Urgestalt. The front wheel is a Meilenstein and the rear is a Standard III;



I removed the eight Lightweight logos on the rear wheel to better match the front wheel. I think I'll order some stealthy decals and put back on though. The removed logos are still somewhat visible.

Did you use acetone to remove the logos.?

To get mine down to 4.6kg i used those tyres too.
Got a puncture on their first ride within 30km.
Just couldn't fix it so in the bin it went.
I carry the other as a spare.

Very light but not very puncture resistant.
Hopefully you'll get quite a few km out of then.

I didn't have any lucky using solvents to remove the logos. I would guess this particular wheel had a 2K paint job. So I went with brute force and 2500 grit sand paper, which worked like a charm.

The tyres are not very confidence inspiring as they are very thin and there are plenty of one star reviews explaining the dissapointment with punctures almost immediately. But I've ran these tyres on my R3 for thousands of kms and have never had a puncture (now that I said that I probably will though). :p

I got some 100 % pure acetone now, and It did solve the remaining paint pretty easily. What I tried before was nail polish remover and it must have been diluted and ineffective. I also tried naphta and heptane without any effect. The pure acetone managed to get down into the paint scratches and remove the white paint, however the white paint is still stuck in an around the pitted areas without clear coat. :/

The Lightweight logos are still visible, but much less so. I'd say its 90 % perfect now.

A custom DIY seatpost which will shave 100 grams off the weight of the badly designed and heavy original seatpost.
