Looks great! How do you like the R4 classics? I've been considering them for a while, currently running 28mm GP5000s on the exact same setup as you otherwise

I really like the R4 Classics. I haven't been using them for too long as I ran Conti GP5000 before but I was rather interested in trying the Bontrager tyres.

So far they've held up really nice. I live in Denmark and we have a lot of flint in the underground so usually it's not practical using race-specific tyres. So far I've done 1.783 kilometers on the Bontrager's and have only had one puncture (knock on wood) which was on a stretch of gravel.

The ride quality is amazing. They roll mazangly, have great grip and they're plush and comfortable. So far a really good tyre. Initially I was a bit worried about durability but even after almost 1.800 kilometers they seems to have at least the same amount left. But I don't think you'll get the same milage as the GP5000 or a similar tyre.

The tanwalls will become discolored and darker.

Nice bike! 8) Mine is very similar, it's currently a Madone SLR 6, also red Project One, Pro saddle is the only deviation from original spec. 50cm so small and compact.

I'm also in the upgrade phase, lot to decide. :D

What's your saddle height in that set-up? I'm debating between 54/56 at the moment.

Ooh, can we guess? I'll go with 73.3cm.

Just to clarify, I’m guessing the OP’s saddle height and not yours.

Saddle height is 73 centimeters from the center of the BB and following the seat tube.

I've got a SLR - could I ask what light mount you're using to get it under the saddle? When I asked my local dealer they told me I could only put it on the seatpost, which is what I've done. But the Flare looks so much neater under the saddle.

It's a standard Bontrager mount. Mine came with my bike in a bag full of different bits and pieces.

Here's a link to the mount on the Trek website: https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/equi ... Code=black

Yes I agree on the looks and paint. Trek has really upped the game in the last years. Unfortunately the Madone is heavy as an boat anchor. I would still like to testride one of them though. Just out of curiosity.
