2019 Supersix Evo Disc

Following on from my previous thread (viewtopic.php?f=10&t=158443) unfortunately my main bike has had a bit of an accident resulting in a crack in the seatstay and an uneconomical repair!

Not to be put off I got shopping for something new and found a mint 2019 Supersix Evo Disc for a great price so that will form the basis for this new build

As far as the other parts go, it's mostly the same as my Ribble for the initial build.

Since this is being built from the ground up I can weight everything individually and I will get a spreadsheet up here.

Future plans aren't anything groundbreaking, this has to be my commuter/training/racing bike when I emigrate, so that means some compromises.

Planned Upgrades :

-SISL2 crank arms & spiderings
-Dura Ace 9120 shifters
-Lightweight Thru axle
-Lighter headset bearings & expander
-Cut Seatpost

Any suggestions for the expander & headset bearings are apprciated!

The frame should get to me tomorrow or Wednesday so updates will be coming in from then!

Frame arrived yesterday evening and it's all good news. It's in basically new condition! Got to weighing some of the parts last night, I built it up just enough to see what other bits I would need to get it rolling.

Frame with rear hanger, Seatpost clamp and top headset bearing fitted came to just under a kilo

Fork weighted in at a hair under 400g

The Seatpost, despite being a carbon one and only 25.4 diameter, is disappointingly heavy

Some miscellaneous components, Seatpost clamp is surprisingly light, did swap the standard bolt for a Ti one though, fitted the saddle, and the crank reducers. I'll need new crank reducers as the ones I have are for BB30 not bb30a.

Have ordered a set of a hub adapters to fit the 12mm TA for the front fork and a new set of 30-24mm reducers to fit the cranks, only other thing I need is a flat mount rear brake caliper and then it will be good to go, ready for a test spin!

Managed to win a set of SISL2 cranks and rings on eBay this evening for €180 so no complaints there, it's the setup I really wanted to run, I'll sell off the DA crank to offset the cost.

The two tools, set of washers and pair of endcaps coming to €85 euro is probably something to complain about though!

So I got a little bit more done and wheeled the bike out of the shed for a quick photo since it actually looks like a bike now

My SISL2 arrived too, haven't weighed it since I'm waiting on the rest of the hardware to get here, but it's shockingly light. Doesn't help that I've been swapping chanrings on a 105-5800 crank this evening so that thing is a boat anchor in comparison!

Sorted the final piece to the puzzle tonight with a good deal on a set of second hand 8020 Shifters and 8070 calipers. I had thought about DA 9120 but there's only around a 15g saving and the cost really isn't worth it.

Still waiting on the hardware to arrive for the cranks, but I'm hoping to have them on Monday, then I just have the shifters to install when they arrive at the end of the week and it will be ready for a test ride.

After that progress will probably slow down since I'm running out of cost effective things to change.

Planning my next round of upgrades during the new year for now.

-Hylix Seatpost - 145g for a 400mm post, I'll definitely be cutting quite a bit off so hoping to get down to 130g

-Expander plug

-Lighter chain, probably a KMC X11SL

Thanks, yeah it's an uncommon paint scheme but I like it!

From what I can tell it is an original Cannondale part, although there's no branding on it at all. The guy I bought the frame off didn't see to do much of his own changes to the bike so I would imagine it is stock. Nice to have such a light part! Makes up for the Seatpost I guess!

After what's felt like an age, the mounting hardware and tools to fit the cranksets have arrived via UPS this morning.

Means I can get the cranks and pedals on and have a very good idea of what the rolling weight will end up being! Exciting times

Will get some nice photos once I have a day at home that I can wheel it outside in some natural light!

So I test fitted the cranks tonight and here's the weight without chain, calipers or bar tape which all in I'd say will add 500g

However I've got 8020 levers on the way, and still have to fit the TI spindles to the DA pedals which all in should save me around 160g

I would like to get to 7KG on my goal which should be doable with my final round of upgrades at Christmas (or maybe Black Friday if something pops up)

So it's been a massively busy week with work so the bike has sat! I've got the tools to swap the spindle on the pedals so that's tomorrow's work and then I'll finally get the 8020's on the bike and it'll be ready for a test ride.

Managed to sell the 505's and BR785's along with some more of my spares to make it cost almost nothing to do the Ultegra upgrade!

There doesn't seem to be a lot of difference between the HM and a normal fork. My HM fork in BBQ black weighed in at 404grams.
Save seat post was 186 grams - so you're not losing too much there either.

Make sure you post pictures of your final build when you're done.

That's interesting, I had planned on possibly getting a HM fork, but only for the perceived weight saving! Might put that one on the shelf then!

Went to fit my 8020 callipers and realised I dont have the mounting hardware. Build will have to be delayed a few days
