[Vimeo][/Vimeo]Hello all. New member here.
Just got into road bikes the last couple years. Been cycling more and more , ,Recently bought a 2019 cannondale synapse. Tiagra. Disc.

Weighs 10.297kgs standard. Hope to make it a bit lighter. Sub 9kg Would be ideal. Will be a slow project. But hope to upgrade the group set to Ultegra. And wheels seatpost. Tyres. The usual. Havnt a huge budget as two young kids take care off that 😄

Enjoy tinkering with the bike and learning things as I go. 👍

Well done the usual new stuff on the bike took off the rear plastic disc, reflectors and bell. Also the threw axle handle.

Took both wheels off and lifted the frame up, can't believe how much the standard wheels and tyres must be. Its the rd 3.0 wheels. The bar tape is also stated at 80g so huge saving to be had on the little things to. So when parts are worn out they will be upgraded in time,

When my work bike tyres are worn out I can put the vittoria zaffiros from the cannondale on that and get gp5000 for this which will save around 250g for two tyres.
100g for the cassette alone is a huge saving. Will have to learn how to put up pic with just my iPhone. Any help?

Lots of potential with the Synapse. I have owned a lot of different road bikes over the years, and IMO the current generation Synapse is about as versatile of a WW-capable bike that you can get. Ride quality is similar to the Gen2 EVO, except you get a slightly taller HT and clearance for 33mm rubber! Here is a pic of mine... +/- 6400g as shown.

Those wheels are real boat anchors! I had a 2018 Synapse, and they were the first thing to go!

The brake discs are also an easy win for losing weight once parts wear out. If I rememeber correctly the standard ones I had on my 2018 were quite heavy!

Thats a really nice colour too!

Just weighed my cannondale with luggage scales. Stock Came in at 23.1 lbs which is 10.478kgs. Sub ten will happen soon a few upgrades :-)

My work bike a Specialized sirrus rim brake with mudguards came in at 21.3lbs who knew is 9.888kgs.

Now I know the starting point. Time to lose some lbs.
