Hmmmm. It sounds like your front rim was laced backwards at the Campagnolo factory. I would flip it as I believe the bearings are designed to roll in one direction. Perhaps the AC3 grooves are just cosmetic. The Campagnolo WTO manual states: “The braking rim is micro-engraved to prevent forgeries, but these elements will gradually disappear as the wheel is used. Braking effectiveness and wheel operation are not affected by the disappearance of the micro-engraving on the braking rim.”

I have 4 different Campagnolo wheelsets (Shamal Ultra, Bora One 35 Clincher, Bora One 50 Tubular, and Bora WTO 33). On all 4 sets the bearing preload adjuster is on the non-drive side for both front and rear.

Correct. And you should be able to read the 'usb' of the front hub, i mean facing you when on the bike.

to be honest I've had the bora one 50 and 35 with 24mm width rim and before the ac3 brakeing from my previous colnago but I never really pay much attention when I installed my front skewers wether the preload is on the nds. both of them have been sold already though. Although I saw a post by GUYC when he got his WTO and had the same look as my front warning sticker on the ds. I'll probably leave it as it is .. I already put 150 miles with no problem so far.

Yeah, and make sure you install the right-hand bearings on the right side, unless you are cycling in countries like the UK where the bearings should be switched to the other side.

Perhaps he has the Australian market version of the wheel?

Sorry for hijacking this thread. Bearings aren't directional, but fogman was partially right. On campagnolo/fulcrum wheels, bearing preload adjuster should be on the NDS. As for the ac3, you should follow the arc grooves like arrows so directional.

Like any other wheel/hub brand, the proper way to put a front is you can read the brand or be facing you when on the bike. The front and rear wheel/hub uniform.

Sorry for the misinformation. I made the incorrect assumption that the bearings were directional due to the bearing preload adjuster being on the NDS on all my Campagnolo wheels (e.g. on the NDS the direction the wheel rotates is opposite the direction the bearing preload adjuster tightens).

Ok look at the 3rd picture on this probikekit wto look closely at the ac3 grooves which is the correct direction and look at the preload its on the ds. Maybe the sticker was put wrong?

Rule of thumb. You can't place the rear wheel backwards so just follow the rim/hub direction of the rear

@nismosr. Your Colnago C64 is beautiful and a very similar build as my own. Maybe my front wheel is the one that is backwards. I was thinking your thread got somewhat hijacked and maybe this discussion would be more appropriate in the Bora WTO thread instead.
