Old thread I know but does anyone know if there's a weight difference between the "Roadmachine 01 Premium Carbon' frame and the normal non-01 version?

I've got a 2021 non-01 version and my build spec is very similar level to yours - Bontrager RSL, Red Axs, but it's coming in at a rather porky 7.75kg in a 56cm.

I don't know what the weight difference is, but I can say with a fair bit of certainty that BMC, just like all of the major brands, probably use a higher spec carbon in the premium frame which allows them to hit the stiffness targets for each area of the frame, while using less carbon, resulting in a frame that weighs less.

Yes, that's my suspicion, as per most bike brands BMC's product naming conventions aren't particularly clear. Both frames are listed as using 'Premium carbon' but the higher-end models get the '01' designation as well.

Doubt there's much in it, but I fitted my road wheels (Bontrager RSL51) to my gravel bike (Scott Addict) the other day as a bit of a test and it came out at 7.5kg (+250g lighter than the BMC).
The groupset of the Scott is lighter (x1 mechanical SRAM force) but I still expected the Scott to weigh more as the frame weight is 1200g.

They added 01 for the higher trier models, because they have the flatened fork - and internal cables all the way. If the frame is different.. uhm I don't know.

Thanks for your reply, I'm considering switching my fork out and going fully integrated but was trying to weigh up just whether it's worth doing with this frameset. Or do I just buy a Team Machine and know that it'll be lighter for sure...

In a few weeks, probably in mid September, my LBS will strip down my new RM01 five (Ultegra 12s) to install a SR EPS.

Hope to be able to weight frame (56) and fork and share the pics.

Contacted BMC directly and they've confirmed the frames are identical across the range, the 01 fork is lighter but they didn't specify by how much

Thanks, really appreciate you taking the time to do that.
I guess there's probably 100-150g for the hardware, so approx. 1000g for the frame aligns with my build weights.
